Both sides turned the ball over a bit too much. Not sure that Gibbs is the elite by foot and hand player that his mates in the box make him out to be, in the second half when Freo applied a lot more pressure on the ball carrier, he took a lot of wrong options today which caused turnovers.
For all that we gave up that lead, for most of the second half the crows looked ordinary going into attack under solid midfield pressure, something that Brereton predicted. (Although he predicted it would not happen til the Granny). When the Crows put the pressure on in the last 3 minutes, Sandi in the centre would have made it a lot harder for them.
I liked our more direct and play on footy, use of the corridor and the kicking from defense of Wilson and Blakely in particular. A Pearce seems to have added some depth to his kicking, and playing Fyfe at CHF on a ground with a little bit more open space could expose defenses around the country. Matera has to do more to convince us, Ballas offers more than Matera showed today. and we need to find a lawyer who can prove to the umpires department that Walters DOES have a neck and head.
