I was thinking a more Fred Flintstone loading up with Brontosaurs ribs in the car type man.

I recon this this AFLX is a calf testing outside runners game, not a contested in and under player game. Hilly and Mickey will be loving it.

I reckon its just a poor excuse for not being able to organise a proper BBX competition.

You'd think most of these will play and frankly I'm not interested in the olympics - summer or winter but I will watch this if I can. I like the concept and can remember when people laffed at the idea of 20/20 cricket.

AFLX could be good...we’ll see, and it’s possible it may be better than some flooded AFL games, which would be a problem for the AFL.

I'm not sure why they are doing it. Are there a bunch of rectangular grounds around Australia that are sitting around empty? If you put AFLX in them then there's bound to be a bunch of ovals empty. Makes no sense. Maybe they think Billy Bob Yahoo in Ohio is just sick of the multi-billion dollar local game of football and will tune into some obscure cable tv channel in the middle of the night to watch some Telstra ads. Or maybe the AwFL just reckon the normal game is too long/complicated for that 1% of the population that need more Telstra ads to fill their summers with.

Either way I reckon it's stupid enough to watch - like Monster Ice Truck Crash Alaska or Avalanche Railroad Stories. T20 makes sense, this doesn't to me.

The idea seems to be that, to be able to play football overseas they need to come up with a format that will fit on a soccer pitch. Then they'll be able to get the league to pay for their holidays in a wider variety of countries.

I hereby call for a complete reversal of this policy, and the development of AFL tests. Five days with no bench, first team to get 1000 points ahead wins, otherwise whoever's ahead at the end. If it's a tie, then the team with the most remaining live players.

Surely I'm not the only one to have just googled the dinosaur jumping over the cactus game? There's my afternoon plans sorted.... And don't those cactuses look just like a middle finger - kind of like AFL teams' reaction to selecting their stars for this fart-lighting exercise...

If this format ever takes off around Australia, I'm tipping 'Best Clubman' at each suburban AFLX club for years to come will be the person who for each game removes the soccer goal post before play, installs the footy goal posts, takes down the footy goal posts after play, and reinstalls the soccer goal post all before soccer training the following day.

Let’s not get distracted by all the spin about playing overseas and international malarkey coming from AwFL house. This Idea is about playing afl at schools in NSW and QLD which all have rugby pitches but only the elite ones have cricket ovals.

Why are they building schools without cricket ovals? Surely there's something about that in the constitution.
