Wow, here's me thinking if the Girls were able to play and train all year round they might actually develop their skills and take it to another level. Add to the fact they are playing in the middle of summer with sweaty hands, I take my hat off to them for giving it a crack. It's amazing the games are not scheduled under lights to give them half a chance.
On a Different note, I took the Family out to Guildford Hockey Stadium to watch the Hockeyroo's put on a clinic against the Chinese Girls. Great game, entertainment at half time was dodging the sprinkler as it shot up the Ali seating 4 tiered "Grands Stand". (Dodging the Sprinkler is pretty hard to do when your bum has gone numb sitting on the plate ali.)
Made it for a sausage in the Bun at 3 bucks. Girls won 4-1. Read Sats Worst and it gets all of 50 words in the sports section. I was surprised at the low numbers that turned up to watch our national side in an international clash.
In better news, the "Cram" at Alfred's still rocks and makes the world a better place. The crew working there are salt of the earth, God bless them, especially the ladiy who listened patiently to little miss eight describe to her how she would like her hamburger put together with the crowd 10 deep behind us. And the finished product made little miss 8 glow with delight!
