As a registered slow learner, I'll just say something you guys already know. The reason the AFLW is plagued by low scores is because they can't kick as far. In the mens game you have to defend basically the whole of the field inside your defensive 50, because give an opponent a couple of metres space in there, and they'll snap a goal. But many of the women players would struggle to kick 40m (and some of them not even 35m). So the area you need to defend shrinks, and when you squeeze the same number of players into a smaller area, congestion takes over and goals are hard to come by. If you are a coach, you'd be a mug if you spread your defence more than you needed to.
The obvious solution is to add letters like "WD" and "WA" to the jumpers and then restrict the areas where those jumpers can go...
