"The location of your group's seats at Perth Stadium has been based on the location of the longest serving group member's seat at Domain." Beauty I thought. I am a Day 1 Quay Club member who has been sitting on the Rail line side wing for the last 18 years - of which the last 16 years have been in the same seats (next to the big screen) in Block 303. Having looked at the Virtual Stadium Map I was sure I would be offered seats at Perth Stadium in Section 518 (CAT 2). I would also have been equally happy to sit in the CAT 2 seats on the opposite wing in Section 543. These CAT 2 tickets as it turned out were slightly cheaper than the seats we had at Subi. What a bonus.
The problem is I wasn't offered seats in the same location as per the promoted rationale. The seats I was offered were in Section 214. Section 214 is not on the wing FFC Membership!!! The rationale about being offered seats "based on the location of the longest serving group member's seat at Domain" was certainly not applied in my case. WHY NOT? It would appear that as my Subi seats were Premium Gold seats, the membership department must have concluded that I was the sort of chap who obviously likes paying top dollar and that surely I would want to pay the higher CAT 1 price.
How could they get this so wrong. I have sat on the wing at Subi for 18 years, because FFC Membership Department, that is the vantage point I enjoy watching the game from. The fact that these CAT 2 Perth Stadium seats were slightly cheaper than the 'old' Premium Gold seats I paid for last season at Subi would have been an unexpected bonus. It seems that the membership department took it upon themselves to move me away from the wing, perhaps happy in the knowledge that I would be happy to pay more to sit somewhere else for a change.
At 11:00am on Wednesday 1 November I can try to change my seats so that I can be back on the wing. My concern is that they will have likely allocated the seats to someone else and when I try to change, I won't be able to because the seats will be showing as allocated.
Maybe everything will fall my way come Wednesday morning. I'm feeling very glass half-empty at the moment.

Looking at all the seats that were unavailable (the white section of the link posted by Rhythm-Man), I reckon FFC set themselves up to fail by suggesting they could provide like-for-like seats. There are a lot of seats currently occupied by Freo members at Subi that are unavailable at Perth Stadium. That means displace them or others.

There's a lesson here about expectation management. FFC would have been better off saying "our tenancy agreement with Perth Stadium means that a large portion of seats at Perth Stadium will be unavailable to our members. This means we can't guarantee a like-for-like seat. However we will endeavour where possible to offer you a comparable seat." Of course, I haven't seen the terms of WAFC/Freo's lease, so they might have been precluded from throwing the Government / Operators under the bus. I would have included that term if I was the State Government.

It might also have been sensible to provide an option where, in the circumstances a comparable seat was unavailable, you'd prefer to upgrade or live with a worse location at the same price (or cheaper).

I'm hoping a lot of these issues will shake out during the reallocation period, or even next year once people have figured out the stadium a bit more.

THat's odd. Because they spend most of their media time on Expectation Management. You'd have thought they'd have it down pat by now.

So Morgan, you reckon the incompetence is at managing expectations, but I think the incompetence is in the basic re-allocation of seats. I'm sure there is optimisation software out there that you could feed in some criteria and it will give you an optimum new seat allocation based on that criteria. But I don't think they've done that.
Of course I could go all conspiracy here and suggest that they did use optimisation software, but tried to optimise money. But I think basic incompetence is more likely.

Longtime lander follower, 1st time poster.
Same same- 22 year seats relocated nowhere near old block 120 sthwest pocket - hoping for like f like 135/136 in new but no...143 centre wing.
From most ive heard or talked to, i summise we are being allocated the seats the club will find hardest to sell to new members- either due to cost or location.
Cost is certaianly my main concern, and cat 5 or 6 is my aim, so when i look on their "how to guide" on my offer email ,i see a screen shot showing the entire cat 5 blocks lowest level behind west goals listed as unavailable. Then i see the map previously posted on this thread(i think?) which shows all bar 2 blocks of cat 6 behind eastern goals whited out as presumably unavailable.Needless to say , like many others im concerned!
On another note, my cousin went to club today to get some one on one help as she is a senior and doesnt use computers. 50 to 100 others there with troubles/issues.Could only man up predominantely with store merchandise staff as membership staff were otherwise occupied, surprise surprise!!!
A final note, my cousin is an inaugural member ,and i joined in the clubs second year. My seat change period commences 2pm this thurs, hers is only 1 hour earlier at 1pm! So fellow landers,if ive learnt nothing else this week it's use your window promptly!

Yes. Not bad. Basically nearly behind where you say before. Just in the last level. View would be good.

Well I can now go online to see which seats are free but not change (I have to wait until 11am Thursday). We were about 16 rows back in section 109 at Subi but have now been shoved right down the front of a section in a similar position. We don't want to be on the fence we want to be at the back of the section.

It appears that there most people have been shoved into the third tier and all the decent seats have been blocked out by the stadium. It seems that Fremantle have been bent over and told what to do.

Hi Kela. How are you able to do that? Are you just clicking on the 'Change or Add Additional Seats' tab in the email?

Yeah, just clicked on the email link and that took to me a website that says 'relocation portal' open. You can see seat by seat what is available. Our priority renewal period isn't until next Tuesday though.

"Same same- 22 year seats relocated nowhere near old block 120 sthwest pocket - hoping for like f like 135/136 in new but no...143 centre wing."

If that is correct then we can justify just how carp this process is, because they did the opposite to my group. Moved us from what would be 143 to 138, that's the same Category. If we had your seats and you had ours the only thing we'd be complaining about is the $. I wonder if FFC can just swap us around....
