We have done spectacularly well this trade period. Having said that it is a shame we don’t have a second round pick because I reckon we could have got Sam Taylor from swans with it. All-Australian, key position backman who played league for the last couple of months and shone. And can kick. I reckon guys like him, Oscar Allen and Naughton are the reason the slime were prepared to pick up picks in the 20’s at the expense of a top 10 pick because these players will still possibly be available.

Just looking at the top prospects for the first time, it seems on the surface that Luke Davies-Uniacke might be our guy at pick 2. Raynor likely going to brissie at pick 1. LDU looks to be a big bodied complete midfielder, vic country boy who loves a surf if that counts for anything in terms of future player retention. Jarred Brander ranked at 5 by Twomey and rated as the best big man in the draft so he could also be on our radar at 5.

Very happy with our recruiting but a tad concerned about 2018.
No 2nd, 3rd or 4th round picks.
You'd have to think Johno, Sandi & D Pearce will hang up the boots then there's Mundy, Ballas & Spurr who could, depending on how things transpire, be finishing up.
Not sure there's anyone with value (Sutcliffe, Sheridan, Suban) that the club can trade to replace those picks.
Need to lock in Ryan & Hughes.
