I hope Lloyd and Co. factor into their draft equation the “go-home-for-family-reasons” variable when drafting new blokes to the club.

Is Lachie Weller the first footballer ever to "request a trade to the Gold Coast". Groundbreaking.

Also, as an aside, why do I get the feeling this trade will somehow manage to get Ablett to Geelong.

Anyone else think it's also a bit of payback from manager Blucher. One of his clients, Collins, gets delisted then out of the blue one of his more high profile clients, Weller, becomes disenchanted and wants to leave. I've long held the belief that these guys manipulate their clients in ways that screw the clubs over and this could be another of those instances. Just a thought.

A surprise for sure. But he reckoned that when he saw a contract extension offered for four years he didn't want to stay in W.A. for another five years.
Agree with others who stated that we now may have got rid of Crozier too early.
I'd be looking to straight swap with Lynch first before Martin. If that is a goer then use pick 5 on best midfielder. If it is Martin use pick 5 on best marking forward.

Weller was pick 13 in 2014. Terry Wallace reckons a fair trade is Pick 21 and Matera for Weller, effectively using the point system is Pick 10. It does look simple enough but why do I think we're shackled in this Wilson trade. For mine, Weller offers more than Wilson. On a side note, Jack Martin was Pick 1 in 2012 in the mini draft offered by the AFL. Incidently, Hogan went pick 2 in that mini draft. Just saying.

Lynch's name would surely be bandied about as he was mentioned earlier as possibly wanting out. Maybe that's changed since meeting the new coach. He is from Victoria so may not be interested in coming over here anyway.

Martin's name has never cropped up on discussions about trading or wanting to come home.

If Lynch leaves he will demand the biggest contract in the AFL imo. Over a Mill a year. Minimum 2 top tens to get him out of the Goldy.

Whoah there...Terry Wallace says...that is as far as what terry Wallace says has any semblance to a sensible opinion. I loved Wallace's enthusiasm but he is now a "say-whatever-gets-in-the-news" sort of guy. 21 and Matera? They don't even rate Matera. Why would he come into it? CA's suggestion re Lynch is not that far off real worth. It won't happen, but closer to worth when looking at potential...and what he has offered so far. 21!!! Speed and metres gained! Matera?

A half bank flanker for what Jonathon Brown described at the start of the season "as the best player in the comp". You build a team around a player like Lynch.

Weller, (wants to go to GC) for Wilson. Do the deal now. Doesn't matter who goes from GC to GWS, or how the picks translate. If we can get Matera to GWS to facilitate the deal, even better.
