Unless Cox is going to continue in the ruck we'll need to pick up at least one more. We only have 2 currently in Sandi and Darcy, with the clean out of Clarke and Griff.
I could see D.Pearce going as well. I think I saw him do 4 clangers in a row in the last game he played. His kicking has become woeful.

I can understand the frustration with Freo's recruiting circa 1995 - 2001, but for the past decade or so we've done quite well.

Hardly any players (of quality) have left other than for homesickness (Roberton & soon Balic).

We've had some rotten luck with early draft picks (Mora, Pitt, Simpson & Apeness), but have done brilliantly in the Rookie draft and we had our best trade period in our history (IMHO) last year.

Our later draft picks of late have been inspired (2016 - 38. Darcy, 41. Cox, 66. Ryan; 2014 - 34. Blakely, 54. Langdon) and set us up for a rapid rebuild.

Not sure what else they could have done in recent times when our draft picks have been later due to high finish positions.

There are always draft choices that in hindsight look obvious but I don't see too many that we missed to the exclusion of all other clubs.

Plus, now that Brad Lloyd is clearly the List Manager - does that let Bond, Chris Bond, off the hook??

I agree Jason, the frequency of inspired choices in both the Rookie and standard Drafts by our List managers in recent times, is far greater than that of uninspired, incorrect choices. Neale, Fyfe, Blakely, Langdon, Cox, Darcy and Ryan amplify this point, and I hold great faith in the capacity of the club's scouts to identify and select talent. As you have correctly stated, circumstances beyond our control have directly influenced our scope and success in selection (Ladder positions and unfortunate injuries), and the list managers can't foresee/circumnavigate such circumstances. Let's support our club and be optimistic and enthusiastic for the future. I know I am!

Me three - Langdon has genuine pace and has shown strength over the footy and in the air.

Was unlucky not to get the Simpson Medal in Peel's Premiership of 2016, IMHO.

He has certainly shown more in his 25 games than Deluca has in his 4 and they were drafted in the same year (2014).

Surely people don't believe clubs only start talking when the trade period starts. They have been shopping collins around for months and no one wanted to pay for him. So he gets put on the de-list pile where someone might get him for nothing. Reality is his career is in the seconds.
