Not much point having Neale winning the ball in the midfield if he has no-one to kick to. If we have to trade him for Hogan, at least Fyfe, Blakely, Mundy, Weller and the rest will have a genuine target up front.

The fact that the west/ch 7/6prrr have not put fuel into this story makes me think it will happen.

Personally I would give Lachie up for Hogan in a heartbeat. I would throw in a pick too.

I think as supporters we over value our players and undervalue what it will cost to get the piece you need.

Yes we need a good midfield, but bonafide KPPs don't come along all that often, and if you can keep a first round pick and get Hogan I would do it.

Damian Barrett seems to suggest on afl.com that there is still 'on-going negotiations' by the Dockers to try and snare Hogan. The 'science is not settled' and that he's 'staying' at the Demons as has been suggested.

I also had it from two sources advised to me about three weeks ago, one source is close to Rosich and the other a former Docker close to Bond who works for a client. Apparently a three club trade has been ongoing between Demons, Crows and Dockers for several weeks.

The reason why Hogan wants to return is for family concerns. With his dad Tony Hogan (former Subi player and longtime dockers supporter) passing away, Hogan has decided to return to support his mum. This is the only reason he is seeking a return despite extending his contract last year.
As explained to me Freo are giving 3 players to Crow (Sutcliffe, Crozier and one other not disclosed) and 1 to Demons (Balic) , Crows release Lever to Demons and Demons release Hogan to us. there will some pick in the exchange but that's was still being negotiated.

I could speculate we give 5 to Crows and they pass on 5 and there first round pick 17? to Demons who give us there first round pick which would be 10.

You can't just look at what Hogan brings in isolation and say the Dockers will be a two goal better team. He would be a swap for Taberner who is at least a one goal player (and improving) so the net gain is one goal. And some would give up Lachie Neale and pick 5 for that ?
