If Richmond lost last night the AwFL would feel very comfortable in giving him 2 weeks, but like last years Bulldogs, they have the perfect story coming up. Sloane, Ellis, and Cotchin all hit an opposition player in the head with force. According to the laws of the game, they should front the MRP and probably should cop 1 or 2 weeks. I know that wont happen.
If the AwFL doesn't want to suspend players arising from incidents in preliminary finals, change the laws of the game before the start of next season. Don't make a big noise about the head being sacrosanct, and say anyone hitting an opponent in the head, intentional or accidental, with a bump or in any contest will have a case to answer, and then use the weasel words of the low force, etc to let off some but not others.
There have been plenty of players who missed GF's through suspension over the years, but I guess consistency doesn't matter now that big money has come into the equasion.
