Remember earlier in the season when one of our players has a long, highly speculative shot at goal which ended up going out of bounds? That was called deliberate - largely because the ball going oob was the best result for us, and the ump decided on that basis.
Now Mackenzie had three choices, he could take the ball over the goal line legally, as he was under intense pressure. And WC lose. Or he could go for the boundary line. Now there is nothing in the rules that says going for the boundary line is not deliberate when you are under pressure. So that would result in a free to Port, and WC lose. Or he could try and keep the ball in. Clearly he didn't do that.
Why can't it be, just once, that WC lose a game because of a "brave" umpiring decision? I just want to see their supporters heads exploding. Is that too much to ask?
