I'm not suprised.

Check out the "Feebles" pre-game tackling video on Youtube.

It was a thing of tragic beauty by Shuey.......instinctively wrenching his arm upwards, dropping the knees slightly, bending the head back just enough and then up ending himself all in one fluid motion to put the umpire in a position where he just felt he had to pay the free.

He has honed this move to perfection.......he exaggerates it just enough so as to make it too obvious and stayed on the ground just long enough to make sure the ump blew his whistle.

It really is rotten luck for Polec.........there are those that say his technique was weak and poor but I disagree. When you go to tackle someone around the arm and ribs to stop them disposing off the ball this is the correct technique and it would not have resulted in a free against nearly any other player in the competition.

It is a very strange game AFL as not only do rules change each season they change during the course of the season and sometimes from one week to the next.

Sour grapes. If Port were 24 points up when it happened, no one would have cared.

At the end of the day Port weren't good enough to win their final in front of their home fans, someting Freo fans have experienced on multiple occasions.

No wonder he went to slimeland. He fits in there like a hand in glove.

"Decorated player" blah blah blah vs Ballas "serial pest"

Typical hypocritical media reaction.

Another low act by Mitchell, adding to the "bizarre" (???? WTF) incidents in his career, and WCE. But he will be exonerated by the AwFL because he is a legend of the game. Doesn't the AwFL take into consideration intent as well as consequences? It should make no difference whether it hit Gray or not.

I bet if a Port fan spat at Mitchell as he left the ground, that fan would be banned from the ground for life.

No wonder we see the type of behavior we do at lower levels of sport when the administration condones these acts. Next week a player in the F grade somewhere will "accidentally" spit in the direction of another player and be suspended for 10 weeks. And rue the fact that he doesn't play for the eagles.

Mitchell's been a WC too long already. He even spits too high.

Now we know the Toilet have a win at all costs mentality; it is the qualities they search for in their coaching staff - spitting, kneeing, sledging.
A quality individual for a quality team.

And how is Mitchell, as a coach, supposed to take a young player aside... or will he openly encourage appalling behaviour, or if he doesn't and has to put the youngster on notice, how will he respond when the kid says but you spat at Sam Gray, you sledged Kieren Jack about very personal stuff, you have kneed several players in order to deliberately hurt them, why can't I do this?
This is a senior player who has been earmarked as a leader.

So the Eagles are in the finals. We are not.

Let's suck it up and put our nice brave faces on and behave graciously.

I could whinge for Australia if required but in my opinion this win by the Eagles doesn't warrant the amount of complaining we've gone on with. They had luck on their side, it happens.

Now if they win the next game....and the next... and the next....but I don't think they will.

While all the attention is on the Shuey duck, no-one has questioned the deliberate out of bounds by McKenzie in the closing stages of the game, at the other end of the ground. The Perth media have been calling for sainthoods and knighthoods for him while praising him for deliberately getting the ball out of play rather than through for a point. I thought the AwFL brought in a rule quite some time ago to penalize this tactic.

Reckon you're stretching RM. His primary intention was to prevent a score, and thereby save a footy game. OOB was the means to that end, just like when a player crosses the line in posession to avoid a tackle.
