So, here we are again, going over the same old ground and getting told that we 'need to analyse', 'listen to the press conference a few times until we understand' and 'how the coach pretty much has it right' and thats all done without a shred of critical analysis.

Well, I'm all for a bit of analysis. Lets look at what can be learned from our recent games.
We lost against the slime. Actually, we lost that game the same way we lost the previous derby. We went in shorter than the eagles and then proceeded to kick to their taller marking defenders, one of whom got man of the match. We had a poor defensive structure and allowed Kennedy and Darling to collect comfortable marks.
We had more inside 50s because we have a better midfield yet the same number of scoring shots and still lost by 30 points. Doing that once is poor coaching when we knew what was coming. Doing it twice in the same season is so stupid its bizarre.
It was a game that featured poor planning and very poor skills and poor skills seems to be a feature of our time under Lyon.
Then there was Hawthorn. Everybody knows they play an outside, skilled, uncontested brand of football. So we let them play the game on their terms. We structure up for a contested game and a contested game only, then we don't get one and have no plan B. Its really not much of a secret how Hawthorn play except perhaps to our coaching panel because we let them do that unopposed every time. How many times have we beaten Hawthorn under Lyon? I think the last time we beat the Hawks was under Harvey because played a brand of footy that didn't give them complete use of uncontested ball.
But, hey, Bloody Harvey, right?
We have decisions being made that don't make sense and don't bloody work but we get the same decisions being made week in and week out in the hope that maybe one day they will work. Seriously, using Ballantyne as our deepest forward simply because he can run fast and then kicking it to him high. Thats an example of decisions that don't make sense.
I'd have more confidence if our coaches could learn from past mistakes but they are clearly incapable of even recognising them let alone learning from them.
As far as comments about Tabs being correct, again thats crazy talk. Lyon refused to even explain why Tabs couldn't be selected because 'thats between me and him'. How that gets judged as being correct is beyond me. Its just a little more nonsense from a used car salesman who is trying to flog a tired, worn out old Valiant and telling us that one day it'll turn into a Merc
