From those four first year players Darcy has exceeded all expectations, Cox looks like a good prospect as he is a good grab and offers valuable back up ruck support.
I don't think Ryan has got enough credit from Dockerlanders. I think he has shown steady improvement each week. He is a long and generally accurate kick(already taking kick in duties), is a good mark for his size, doesn't panic and is prepared to put his body on the line.
At this stage I can't see one aspect of the game that you could say Logue shows a real talent for. He hasn't shown any real progress through the season with all of his games being very similar. i'm glad we're getting games into him and really hope he develops in the future but for me when you get a top ten draft pick you want to see something exciting or a talent that makes you sit up and think, "yes, I'm glad we got this bloke. He looks really promising."
Just don't see it YET.

Louge reminds me a lot of Grover when he first started. I used to cringe in the early days watching him goosafy him self trying to do things with the ball with hands clearly covered in Vaseline. Then one day he washed the Vaseline off and became the monster Forwards feared.

Well, if we are only likely to get 5-7 players at best, and you would recon that Balic is likely a non starter for us next year, then our original list is now 16, keeping the 5 maybes goes to 11. That leaves us with 22 good players, 7 back up players. Why not move the 11 on and try to refill with some talent scouting. if you are having a 40% success then odds are in our favour of picking up at least 4 players that will have some upside for our rebuild.

Yep he looks a bit lost, yep, he makes some mistakes. But, geez, tell me the nuts and bolts aren't there, and tell me he has'nt got a lot of upside?. He's played 8 games FFS, and theres been a heap worse pull on a purple jumper.!

Theres been 17 1st selection draft picks since Hasleby. Have a look at them above ( about 2 pages back). The picks are listed in sequential order.

Griffen Logue is not the worst, and theres a whole heap more potential in him than the vast majority of the ones that were picked. You can have Hill, Mcphee, maybe Mora, and maybe Weller as better ones.

I think its a bit harsh to label him a dud at this point.....

Very harsh to be judging Logue this early. He was playing colts last year, as were Cox and Darcy. I realise that modern footy brings players on alot quicker than even, say, ten years ago but it wasn't that long ago there were fantastic players forced to wait till their mid 20's to get a regular game, especially in the old wafl and vfl. I have been impressed with Logue's handballs in close and his marking. He looks good in the air and kicks well. He has had some forgettable moments, especially on the weekend when he didn't protect the space in the marking contest against Kennedy(?) and they goaled but he will learn. I reckon he has shown as much as Cox but they all look good to me. I heard there was 1500 games difference on the weekend between the sides.

The club has picked predominantly Victorian midfielders for the last 10 years and only a couple of them have turned out to be solid contributors. We have had more success further down the draft or rookie draft for players like Neale and Barlow.

I think the club felt were lured into picking Logue due to him being a key position prospect from Perth with a good beep test result.

They could have gone for a Victorian midfielder again at 183cm 78kg with nice skills that might feel homesick in 3 years but only time will tell if Logue was the better option.

When he works out this sport is not a gentlemans polite afternoon kick to kick,and, gets a bit of mongrel into his game, then he will be on his way upwards

Yep, ok Hypen, he's a player right here and now, but whats his upside from here? He's a bit one dimensional.?....tough hard decently skilled midfielder -and yes, that'd be pretty handy in any team let alone ours. Maybe a stupid comment, but if Logue gets it right, a big body athletic swing man is also gonna be pretty handy, I reckon....

Well, to be fair, the way we are playing makes me channel the spirits of Jack Daniels......Although recent adverts are making me think that Jim Beam and his brother Double Oaking might be a better option to channel as they seem to hang with Mila Kunis and that certainly distracts me from any perceived failing our team has and for reasons unknown to me leaves me smiling..a LOT...
