Are you saying 3 or 5 in trades or including draft picks Shane? Just thinking of what we got last year and I'd be thinking you could count Hamling, Hill and Darcy as successes, with Ryan and Cox looking promising. Logue too early to call.

Did a quick Google search and found these stats from drafts between 1996 and 2004-

25% of Top-10 selections play 50 games or fewer. (Only 48% reach 100 games).
48% of those picked after selection No.10 play 50 games or fewer.
40% of those picked after selection No.10 play 25 games or fewer.
11% of those picked after selection No.10 never get to take the field at all. Mark them down for 0 games.

Yes you can. Its just a list overhall. We will likely end up with 5 ish draft picks plus a couple possible rookie selections and if we are talking about sheridan, sutcliffe, suban, crozier ...even Ibbotson type players we may be able to trade for further late selections. Teams like Brisbane, Gold Coast and possibly Carlton would potential have a spot for afformented players.

Reality is at least 5-7 will go.

b) Have asterisked the fellow that have played 50 games ..or have been serviceable for the period they have been playing ie Blakely =31 games....

So, by my reckoning......and a very quick calculation....if, the draft of 2016 is not considered in this calculation (even though all 4 will play 50 games) AND, we assume Weller, Blakely, and Langdon play 50 games for the Club (I am not yet counting Deluca, but hopeful).....

...that makes 74 National Draft Picks between 2000 -2015. Of those, 32 played 50 games for Freo.

That makes 43% !

Goes to 46 % if the class of 2016 get through to 50...

(ed....Apologies for any mistakes I have made during this quick summary....)

Alex Rance was the turn over king when he started so there is hope for Logue. He technically looks like a good kick to me its just his composure and decision making. Maybe when he feels more comfortable it will come.
I reckon Cox and Darcy look the best key position picks of last years draft at this early stage. I reckon when Cox goes into defence you will see an intercept marker like Jeremy McGovern and Darcy is doing what no other 19yr old ruckman has ever done. I'm pretty excited by last years drafting on the whole.

Logue will win a Doig Medal within 3 years. He hasn't quite picked up the tempo of AFL and he needs to bulk up for the opponents he's playing on but he reads the game well and knows where to put himself.
