Dawson, Ibbo, Apeness are the ones in trouble I reckon.
Dawson as a forward is on his way out, surely.
Ibbo seems to be losing interest unfortunately.
Apeness seems too injury prone and hasn't done anything to maintain a spot irrespective.
The one player with a level of interest from other clubs would be Zac Clarke.
Crozier and Clarke for Rory Lobb would be interesting. Yet I reckon we'll keep Clarke.

You can't just delist 10 players without recruiting replacements first.

I can not find anything saying you can not delist a max # of players at the appropriate time, only a minimum. I'm not sure if anything has changed since last year.

2016 Rules

Of the list of 15, there is at least 10 there that could go and we would not suffer a loss of form I recon. You'd have to say we could find a way to give someone else a chance to shine? Surely we could uncover a jem or two with those sorts of odds if people were doing their jobs right??

One possible trade not mentioned is Harley Balic. The kid is super talented and has shown a bit in his appearances in Purple but there seems to be a bit of homesickness at play so if that is the case our list management need to apply due diligence, keep the kid happy, and identify a trade target of equal talent in Melbourne who may fit our needs. I'd rather persevere with Harley but we can't do what GWS did to McCarthy and it may work to our advantage.

The possibility of Balic wanting a trade is quite real I'd say but what we really need are draft picks so the trade could be 3 x 3rd round draft picks which we could then use to replace Ibbo,Dawson etc and pick up some of the less favoured talent in the WAFL, NEAFL and SANFL

Some players may not want to stay beyond this year. Before starting to lop off heads it might be better to size up who hasn't signed on for next year first (like Langdon).

Seems to me that sweeping out almost half your club and replacing them with kids and WAFL players leaves you with a list much like GWS, Gold Coast or Melbourne from the last five years. A bunch of kids that don't know how to play together. Now on the case of those three clubs, they were teams of first and second round draft picks. And I think it's fair to say that for the most part that strategy didn't work (though GWS seem to have pulled together). I can't see that kind of clean out doing anything but leaving is as a rabble.

Unfortunately some of our senior players left don't appear to show leadership qualities so the mentoring cupboard is a bit light on since Elvis and Pav left, that's part of why in some games we come unstuck.
