You guys set really high standards of behaviour. Hope you live up to your own expectations. It could have been so much worse than a young bloke slipping off early to meet his old mates and do something healthy and wholesome like surfing. For instance, if, just supposing, he played for the other mob in town, he might have been slipping out to some Northbridge dive to see a man about buying something unpleasant and illegal.

It's a team sport at the highest level not My three sons, things would go well if each week a player thought f it I will wag the team strategy meeting. Your either in the group or not.

There is a litany of football stuffer uppers over the years and at this stage I think he is pretty low on scale.

Where was all this vitriol for Johnson, Simpson, Black, Jeffery and any other Freo player over the years who f....d up Polly?

We know all the young players in particular can stuff up. People will cut it to suit their view. In this case its the context of the matter and what appears deceptive behaviour at training. If he was crook enough to go home one would think he wouldn't have been well enough to travel.

These been a lot of on and off field issues this year and Blakely is one of them.......it makes u think if there's a problem in the club and if it takes a simple statement to fix it......I just hope we don't butcher a promising young player

I still can't stop laughing at Rhufus, Jezza and Polly's unhinged Trump'esk rants.

well maybe connor has someone to change his sheets for him shane.
because where i sit he has much bigger problems.
i would love to be there when he fronts his teammates with a very well punctuated letter in hand,or maybe he reads it off the cuff, but then maybe he will get someone else to write it for him.
obviously you think a well written letter is more important.
i hope i am wrong and he does have the discipline to go forward ,if not then he ain't worth talkin about.

I see that Kersten was named emergency originally but I see that Pearce is now the emergency a better option if it is bucketing down tomorrow than 2 big ruckman I would suspect.

Hopefully for us he's learned his lesson plus the fact that as an afl player he is being watched by all and sundry especially opposition supporters ready to rat on him.

Boy Polly what did he do to you. Seem to recall your support for Simpson. Hate to be your kid.

When I heard about Blakely's indiscretion I felt very disappointed, angry and frustrated, particularly knowing what an outstanding contribution he has made this season. But the reactionary, over-the-top, hypocritical rhetoric by Polly and Co is utterly ridiculous and you should be ashamed of yourselves. He's barely 21-years-old, for God's sake! And we don't even know the full circumstances surrounding his behaviour.

I've also thought Dockerlanders were supportive of our players, no matter what, but that idea's been put to rest. For his sake I hope Blakely doesn't read any of this rubbish. He'll pay a penalty, and have to face his team-mates, and it will be dealt with appropriately. He will emerge from it, hopefully a better person, and become one of our best players.

No doubt Blakaely has failed the playing group but out of this years on and off field behaviours this one is by far less damaging for the club ......sounds like a lot of supporters are fed op about these ongoing issues...but no need to take it out on young Blakely after all compared to the others.....it's only a surf

Just to be clear, Connor being dropped has little to do with wagging training to go surfing with mates. It is all to do with lying to your coach. Polly is spot on. You need to be able to trust every bloke you go into the trenches with without question.

Connor stuffed up but he will learn a great deal from it.

There are no trenches. They kick a football around every weekend for a few months in the winter. The trust level required to participate is quite low.
