Fair enough - if I was his teammate:
* Every single time Connor failed to hit me with a handball I would think his mind was on the Yalingup break - every time he got me properly in the guts with one I would reckon it was despite having his head on the Yalingup break.
* Every single time Connor positioned himself on the field that made things harder for me I would think his mind was on the Yalingup break - every time he jagged a miraculous goal, burst through a pack (or whatever) I would reckon it was despite having his head on the Yalingup break.
* If I was in a tough spot with the ball in a game I would try to give it out to anyone but Connor - if Connor was having a tough time I'd leave him to it.
* Every single time Connor said he was sore, sick or injured I would suspect he was faking it - every time he looked to be going ok I would anticipate him being about to fake an illness.
* If I was sitting through some turgid strategy meeting listening to all sorts of RoLy hyperbole and corporate baloney I would wonder why some blokes like Connor could sneak out of being there too.
...and on and on and on it goes. In fact, I'm not sure what Connor could do that would make me think differently.
But if I was a member/seat renter and I was watching Brady Grey busting his knackers to fill a spot in the back line (and reinjuring his hammy), or Lachie Neale getting pulverised in the middle without help, or Johnno getting stuck holding the ball because he couldn't kick it to someone on the wing, and we end up dropping 4 pts to a team that we should've easily beaten at home (as a result) I would automatically think:
* This is the result of one arse-clown thinking he didn't need to sit through a game-day strategy meeting.
But if that doesn't happen and we have a whopping good game and obliterate RoLy's former team on Sunday I would think:
* There, we don't need that arse-clown after all - trade him out or let him burn up the WAFL with all the wannabes (what do I care). Back to Bunners mate and all the best.
Good surf, bad surf - it's winter, it's cold and there's plenty of great whites on the move leading up to feeding time down there. Good prep or bad prep for a Sunday game? What do I know - tell you what, it's probably more risky than having a groove at a music festival.
The funny thing is, I don't find it funny at all - because it can't be resolved. If Connor apologised to me I would just think it was baloney.
