In some perverse way I reckon Sandy did us a huge favour by getting injured this year. Without him being injured Darcy would have remained rotting away at Peel and would never received an opportunity to play an AFL game. Now he is an integral part of our team. Luck, fate, chance call it what you will, but Im glad it panned out as it did because RL is a stubborn bastard and we all know Darcy would never have got an opportunity otherwise.

Darcy has been great, but I would like to see him left behind this week. We will not beat GWS anyway and Griffin can get a farewell game, though not at home.
Why expose Darcy to Mumford at this stage? He may well need a rest, not that he has showed a need.

Mummy's his idol - he's styled his play on Mummy. He'll be really keen to play against and potentially beat him, and it would be madness to leave him out.!

Plus, even if he gets beaten, he'll have learnt a fair bit about being a mongrel...!

Playing Mummy is crucial for his continued development, and he's showing no signs of being sore or tired. Let him get on with it, and give him a rest in 5 weeks time!!

Darcy's development will be far better off getting on the plane to sydney to ruck against mummy rather than cleaning up some wafl part timer. early days you might have said he would be getting a free ruck lesson, but I reckon Darcy can more than hold his own against Mummy.

I didn't want to start a new thread for fear of unwanted spies and recruiting blokes. About this kid Aaron NAUGHTON, currently playing in Peel's backline as a FB/CHB. Fresh from gaining the 2017 U18's CHB position, he is something out of the box. He's been compared to Alex Rance, but a taller version. Already he's holding down a senior spot at Peel pushing Dawson out. We currently sit in 15th position, and if we don't win again till season's end, a top 4 draft pick is on offer. I'm hoping Bizkit can have some input here, but Naughton is surely our first round pick if he goes unnoticed.

Yeah, I reckon we'd all be getting ahead of ourselves a little if we are feeling the need to talk about Naughton or anyone else by stealth.

But I agree he seems to be a good one. I actually think they will go a midfielder feeling that Mcarthy, Hamling, Cox, Kersten, Tabs and Pearce have it covered.

We lack in contested and intercept marks. Just saying .and this kid seems like he does the job.......Dawson, possibly Collins (can't get a game) and Jonston (will he retire) and considering Pearce by the time the new season starts won't have played for about 1year and a half their all in doubt I would say.....don't see the point in another midfielder
