If I'm thinking about why we suck at the minute then a few things seem obvious to me:
Pav and Elvis left. Mundy, Sandi, D Pearce, and Johnson got old. Thanks a big chunk of our spine and engine that just fell out.
So, Lyon gutted the middle tier players over 25 and chucked a bunch of 18-22 year olds that have never played together into their spots. Suprise surprise, the ones looking best on ground are the ones that had played together for a bit - Neale, Fyfe, S. Hill in the seniors, and Langdon, Weller, Blakely in the 2s. B. Hill and Hamling jumping in and playing well so fast is a testament to their class.

Cool head and patience. Last year was the pits and we're building back up. Quite quickly and effectively, I would have thought.

Thats very sobering Sox and of course a fair bit of it correct.

But right now at this point in time same as Adelaide they cant compete. They cant run or adapt or be cohesive.

Noddy thinks we lack quality talls and he might be right. Is that why defenders cant run back or someone pick up Zorko?

Heres my take: they have changed their travel routine, Connolly was adamant we were a different team on the road if we didnt have that flight recovery day.

And they need to give the forwards a way of playing that they understand and believe in. Macarthy doesnt know up from down at present.

as was said above cox and ryan are playing with flair,having a crack.
but it wont take long for them to be shunted back to the 2's if they dont play the defensive crap that lyon insists
for example,against the pies i counted 20 times they (pies) came out of half back chipping to a leading player mainly 15 to 20 mtrs away,all up the ground,either up the middle or the wings, so monotonous it was a joke ,but it works and their inside 50's had more purpous than ours,even when we got close they kept chipping away
again yesterday the same ol same ol ,and it worked,when the cameras expanded out you could see how the oppositon set up,but not us we went so defensive and let them all just chip away.and what do we do ,chip backwards again and agian ,then bomb it forward,a forwards nightmare.
i seriuosly agree with other posters i dont think lyon can regenerate this side,as now he is crucifying the young talent.how lyon could say you cannot bring in a new ruckman to replace arron wtf?how the hell does a new young ruckman get the experience he needs to be competitive,darcy should have gone to brisbane to play ,even if he played out of a forward pocket and rucked there,give me a break.

I really don't think that drafting list that is shown is anything to show to help an argument. It's too early to judge on 2016 draft but after that the only ones there that you would think other clubs would show an interest in would probably be Weller, Blakely, Pearce(if he's ever fit) and perhaps Balic.

It's a crazy season look at how the Saints got knocked around by Boodelaide and Port got spanked. Ours is going to be an up and down season much like most of the other mid or developing list teams.

I don't really care about Lyon's 'record'.

The 'success' of 2014-15 provided football devoid of any enjoyment in its spectacle, and many games where they found a way to win, despite playing like tripe for huge chunks of the season.

How did we go in finals in our minor prem season played on our home ground? He's had 5 years. Lyon has not convinced me of his 'winning potential' whatsoever.

earlier in this post players were given a A,B,C,D mark as the poster saw it , I would make the observation that the poster i think only handed out two A's i think from memory , One being to Walters , I disagree with his A mark , He has had 4 good games 4 very average and 4 putrid until he finds some consistency he remains a B Grader in my opinion.

Last year, we had 211 missing and a bloke called Fyfe that goes alright was out of action and Zac Dawson was our second best KPP back man. Port also weren't exactly good last year ......should they have sacked Hinkley or did they miss Paddy Ryder? We are currently on the same wins 6 as Port and the Dogs with a poorer list of overall quality. The coach is doing ok in my book given we haven't had a decent ruck for a few weeks.
