Healy has been a long time supporter of Freo in the sense that he is the only one on the Couch that ever brings them up. He loves Nic Nat and Sandi and always puts their names in when the Vics are saying how great Goldstein or Gawne are. The segment on the Couch of Sandis masterclass would never have happened without him and you could tell the other hosts couldnt wait for it to finish so they could get on to real topics like Richmond, Pies etc.
His MO is easy to understand, he usually goes for the underdog and consistently tries to see the positives in them. It was clear he was doing that with Carlton. He is harsher on those teams that should be doing better. He consistently gives Sheahan a hard time for failing to ever come to WA and in fact is pretty fair to all the interstate teams. Unlike Geraldo on AFL 360 who hates Freo and Roly and yet presents as "the voice of reason".
Gerard has become harsher on Freo and on Roly the better we have played and was one of the few supporters in the first two weeks who didnt over react. Most Vics dont even critique Freo, they dont care enough to bother. He is critiquing in respect to what they need to do to go the whole way. For a Vic, Healy is OK in my book.
