I would think Ballantyne is a shoe in for a recall against Adelaide but who should go?

Ibbo - enough said about his ongoing poor efforts and head is squarely on chopping block
Spurr - does some good and some bad, but better than Ibbo so safe for now but likely not to be a starter in 2018.
Pearce D - after two weeks back possessions have been less than 20 each time with minimal impact, should be dropped.

So if we consider two players should be dropped in Ibbo and Pearce then replacements should be Ballas and Sam Collins with Collins to give much needed height in the backline to combat the Crows talls. Ballas replaces Crozier up forward and Crozier provides additional run off half back changing off bench like last year.

Back six actually looking pretty settled. Only gave up 7 goals (was wet I acknowledge).

And when they kicked 4 in the first, one from a dubious 50m, one from a free kick, one where Murphy jagged it or did the sublime depending upon who you barrack for.... so pretty good effort.

Hughes looking more composed and confident every week.

Before we drop anyone the big question is who gets Eddie Betts?

Last week we wanted to drop Crozier who kicked three and set-up at least one more.

I would say either Spurr or Sutcliffe will go to Betts, but your better cutting off his supply, so cut Sloane off at the knees, and it makes the defenders job so much easier!

Oh and 2 or those 4 goals were as a result of Ibbo's mistakes.

Hamling, Johnson and sutcliffe were great and Spurr okay, Ibbo is the constant odd man out, the new Zac Dawson!!

Spurr or Sutcliffe on Betts is a hideous proposition. We'll need to have Weller knuckle down on him or send Crozier back there for the job.

Luke Ryan should come in for Sutcliffe anyway, although it would be a baptism of fire at Adelaide Oval.

I would have thought it would be best for Ballas to stay in the WAFL until he remembers what it's like to kick bags of 5 or 6 again. If he goes straight back in he'll just be the defensive forward and Brady Grey is doing a commendable job of that, but without the jaw-first tackles.

It wasn't the defense that gave up those first quarter goals. It was the teams inability to hit a target and well placed Blues ready for the quick kick forward.

On top of that the Blues were playing out of their skins, their disposal efficiency and marking was sublime in the first.

We on the other hand couldn't hold a mark. Our ball movement was terrible. Our pressure was really lacking.

We improved a lot after half time.

I would drop Sutcliffe, his kicking is a liability. Pearce was unnoticed. The only one that had a really dirty day was Kersten but he kicked some good goals.

Ray Chamberlain put himself down for two of those goals...

I thought Sutcliffe had one of his better games.

Good decision making and improved disposal.

I'd be inclined to try Brady Grey on Betts to start with

You need a Brady Grey in the side. He intimidates the players who think they can swan around a football ground bruise free, in both the opposition and his own team.

Of course, Ballantyne does the same sort of thing with his energy around the forward line.

Hughes or Langdon will survive a trip back to Peel.

I will tell you who had the worst kicking yesterday, Fyfe. Hands down it was terrible. He had 30 touches but didn't ton up in SC. Everytime he kicked it looked like my first drive on Sunday morning at golf, vicious low hook.

True but I'd give him another week before dropping him back to Peel.
