Interesting thinking Polly, I too thought Blakely easily won his battle with Murphy. He saw what was needed in the conditions and delivered, going away from the game plan to do so. Although he and Murphy finished equal-ish on raw stats, Connor got his where it counted and made them count, Murphy got a lot of easy outside stats, that were not really match winning efforts. Lyon may just have been playing with the media in his comment, if not, I think it is a good sign that some of these young blokes are prepared to back themselves to change the game.
In saying that, I would have Walters down as our best, closely followed by Blakely and MJ. While Walters was lauded for his 3rd quarter efforts, I thought he provided the run that we needed all day, given the Hills were not at their running best.
