This was covered on Monday night's footy shows. The footage was damning. Credit to Freo for having a well drilled plan and executing it and damning on the Richmond players and coaches for being totally out of position and allowing a holy Mary play to succeed. Hardwick should put that down as a career low point.

Haha, good pick up Raglan. Hail Mary it is!! But the Protos cant take credit for the error - simply my scrambled brain.

Regarding the earlier comment, i.e. dont give too much credit to the players as it was decided b the bounce of the ball. I appreciated that there was some good luck involved but the players were able to make the most of it because they were prepared to maximise the opportunity. By comparison, Richmond had three players in their own forward line (why??), Rioli on his own on the wing (why??) and left a big space in our forward line for Mundy to run into. That's at least three mistakes that have nothing to do with the bounce of the ball. Poor play by them and we took full advantage of it (in addition to a lucky bounce)

IIt was a season defining win no doubt. But the 2 players that was the most accountable in that 21 seconds was Lachie Neale and Dustin Martin. One thought the game was done and dusted and the other thought there's still time. They stood side by side behind the ball at the bounce, one moved the other watch him take off. 95% of a game is played between the ears and that's what separates the men from the boys. Whatever the Dockers are paying Lachie Neale, it's not enough.

The draft of 2011 with pick 58, Neale is arguably the pick of the draft. There's also this bloke who's won 3 premierships already.

WTB, I agree, and Martin showed why he is not quite up there with the superstars of the game. It aint over 'til it's over and never think it is over 'til the ump's whistle blows. A lot of credit must also go to all the Freo players who were not directly involved in the play, and had the brains and discipline to not try and involve themselves in it, but instead make sure their immediate opponent was also not involved. If we could set our forward line like that for 100 minutes, instead of 21 seconds, we would win a lot more games. ( And maybe Dipper would finally understand what Jeansy was talking about.)
