That is what I don't understand. We are supposed to be a rebuilding team yet we are the 3rd oldest list on the field just in front of west coast and hawthorn.
You cant turf out all your experience, so there would be a couple that I would keep.
Of our over 30 players who played today
Sandilands
D Pearce
Mundy
Dawson
Griffin
Johnson
-Spur turns 30 this year and ibbotson is turning 29. At this point on form, I would keep Sandilands and Mundy. The others can help develop the peel boys.
Suban - 27 years old and a fringe player now at best, especially if playing on the forward line.
The alarming thing there is that 5/6 of the listed players today are names listed above in the 29+ list. If Alex Pearce was available then Dawson would possibly be playing WAFL.
IF Ross stands by his press conference then expect some changes. I hope for our sake that we see either of Logue, Cox, Balic, Luke Ryan making their debuts.
At the end of the day if they decide they are going to play kids and we cop a few beltings, I can stand by that and support it because GWS and the bulldogs endured a couple of seasons of beltings before rising up quickly. But I can't take an 80+ point belting with 15/22 (brad hill counts) playing in the 2013 grand final and no first year players apart from 4 recruits from other clubs.
