Hi Biz,
Glad I could be of service to dish up a bit of bs to have a discussion over.
I. So here he is on the record as saying
"I told them I'd be more than happy to go to Freo. I'd appreciate any opportunity, but I'd love to be drafted by a Melbourne club," he says.

I'm pretty sure Jack Watts is on record as saying he didn't want to leave Melbourne, and with West Coast at 2 (nicnat) and Freo at 3 (S Hill) if he didn't go at 1 then there was a high chance he was heading interstate, brisbane had pick 7 (rich) so slim pickings that year for him to land at a vic club. Pretty sure Chad Wingard said to GWS as well that after his contract finished he would look to shift back to SA, so they didn't pick him. When you see what happened at Brisbane and the number of Victorian Kids who left GWS to move back to Victoria, whilst I understand he is a local lad, if someone says they really want to go somewhere, do you really want to invest a couple years of development and then potentially not get the returns back? GWS hasn't really had a choice, they have to cut their salaray cap back and trim their list as well, so there are a few they had to get rid of.. If SPS changes his mind in a few years time and decides he wants to come back to WA, I'm sure Freo would be happy to snap him up, as would the majority of us.
II The question to ask is if we kept pick 3, how would we have got Cam Mac to Freo, and with pick 3 there was still no guarantee we would have taken SPS either. Tarranto was a bit of a late bolter into the top 3 considerations. There was still every chance that SPS could have still been there at our pick 7. I don't know what other options we had to get him here, without severally smashing ourselves with no other draft picks, considering we were trying to get Mayne, Hamling and Kersten as well. The picks from that pick 3 trade gave us something to work with for the rest of the trade period.
III Logue won the beep test at the combine, so with an engine like that and an ability to compete, there is nothing stopping him from spending stints in the midfield as he develops.
IV Calling SPS a medium size midfielder.. what else do you describe a 180cm midfielder? Not quite big bodied midfielder? Slightly bigger than small mid?? Fyfe and Mundy at 190+cm are big mids and lachie neale at under 180cm is a small mid, I don't know how else to describe them?
V People were talking about Hill so I made a comment about hill.
Jacob Weitering must be a freak then to be a KPD and go at Pick 1. That pick #4 pavlich guy was an AA Full Back in his 2nd year, albeit first recruited as a forward. Alex Rance was Pick 18. Phil Davis Pick 10, Michael Hurley - Pick 5, Harry Taylor Pick 17, Tom Lonergan Pick 23, Daniel Talia - Pick 13 (2012 Rising Star)
