What he seems to be proposing is a Slightly Later In the Afternoon than Normal Grand Final.

It means a lot of under 8's get fed early and put to bed over east.
Over West it will prevent obesity as the under eights are not all fed Pies and chips all day long while Mum and Dad stare at the TV having a couple of quiet drinks. Lets face it, after the GF who is cooking anything?

Anyone know what the players think about it?

Isn't an evening or night game going to possibly be more dewy and less skillful. Melbourne can be a tosser of a place weather wise at that time of the year or anytime for that matter. If I'm going to pay big bucks to fly in and watch a wet game, I'd rather do that during the daytime.

Good point Noddy, the bigwigs at AwFL HQ rave on about all the law changes to make the game faster and showcase the skills of the elite athletes. Then they make those elite athletes play at night in the dew, negating to a great extent the benefit and spectacle of said skills. May as well get Widgiemooltha front bar first 18 play the egurls cheer squad, and have the GF as the warm up game.

I reckon the players would play at 2am if it meant playing in the GF.

And the most obvious thing I can think of for the tween time is that it's a compromise for the day people and the night people, you get some day and some night. Myself I'd be just as happy keeping it as it is, but don't mind trialling other options as long as they're open to going back at least one more time after the trialling is done.
