I agree with your reading of it Corporal. We will be close often enough, but we can guarantee we will get right royally !@#$ed by the umpires, and hence I cannot see enough of those close games being allowed to go our way.
Forward line and defence are huge, huge concerns obviously. We have always had one player - except last year - who was able to rack up big possessions as an attacking drifting defender. First Johnno and Ibbo are going to have to assume this role in a very convincing manner for us to be even close to competitive.
But I am so hopeful to be proven totally wrong.
I like the look of Griff as a resting forward, seems to have regained his pre-knee mojo. Crozier to come in for Ballas is a no-brainer. So,maybe the forward line can work, maybe. Unfortunately I reckon Fyfe will have to go forward a lot, and well, do everything.

Not sure Fyfe will be forward that much. McCarthy looks damn good, and with Kersten and SonSon we'll cause problems for the opposition if we deliver it well.

CA, you forgot Margett's protégé, Williamson. Watch him, he will be dangerous to Freo.

It looked last year like Crozier was being eased into the drifting defenders role. He could be a good choice, strong in the air, reads the play well, good disposal. Ibbo and Johnno are not the same players they were before injury, and will need some time to get back to their best.

Agree. Crozier's form off half back was the best he has shown since being here, so why move him back to the forward line where he struggled to have any impact.
