Dear Dockerlanders, it is that time of year when, once again, you outline your football credentials by indicating how successful will be each of the eighteen AFL teams in the HomeNaway season. Just before Round 1, I will scrape your carefully considered opinions from this thread so they may be analysed at the end of the year.

Now I am not asking you to pick the order of the AFL ladder at the end of Round 23; I am asking you to place the AFL clubs into four bands.
  • Which four team will comprise positions one to four at the top of the ladder?
  • Which four teams will make it to the finals in positions five through to eight?
  • Which four teams will just miss out on making the finals in positions nine through to twelve?
  • And finally, which six teams will finish at the bottom of the AFL ladder?

So your predictions will look something like this...
  • Top four: Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Collingwood
  • Bottom of the top eight: Essendon, Fremantle, Geelong, Gold Coast
  • Just missing finals: Greater Western Sydney, Hawthorn, Melbourne, North Melbourne
  • Cellar dwellers: Port Adelaide, Richmond, St Kilda, Sydney, West Coast eGurls, Western Bulldogs

I think, Hg, that if all the teams finish the season in alphabetical order that would be amazing.
I won't be tipping alphabetical, although having the Toilet last always makes me happy.

1 - 4: Bulldogs, GWS, Sydney, Toilet
5 - 8: Adelaide, Hawthorn, Port, Deaf Cheats
9 - 13: Geelong, Melbourne, Shitboners, Collingwood, Freo,

Here we go again:

Top 4:
GWS (who don't they have)
Cats (traded well and have the cattle)
Us (no reason not to be right up there)
Hawks (too bloody smart for most teams)

Bottom of the 8:
Bulldogs (plenty of intuitive passion for the game but they blew their wad last year)
Demons (have the talent and should have the experience this year)
Swannies (that's Eastern Swannies - yep, pretty smart ball players)
Port (desperate and quasi-skilled)

Missing out:
Saints (a year away from the top I reckon)
Crows (great forwards but a lagging midfield with too much blubber)
Tigers (really desperate - too panic driven and will stuff it up again)
Bombers (the Woosha factor = zero growth)

Basement:
Magpies (Bucks is gornski - early into the season)
Blues (Opie is really just an Opie)
Lions (the whole Qld thing will come unravelled)
Suns (ditto - despite Mickey)
North (Brad's bunch are boneheads)
E-Girls (crash and burn - nothing would make everyone here happier)

I'm a novice at this caper but after our recruiting and drafting and what we dished out in the preseason, Freo are destined for their second spoon.
