The bulldogs won because it was a Vic based fairytale for them to do so, the umpiring was so bad in that GF that Sydney players were being injured by bulldogs sliding into their legs and the frees still went to the dogs players for "high contact" had freo been on the receiving end of that in a GF this board would have gone into complete meltdown. Even in the GWS prelim they received some very dubious decisions in their favor.
Back to us though, I think we are only now realising how very important Luke Mac was to our team and that without a replacement the "rolyball" of 2013-15 will be very hard to replicate successfully, the fact we went out in straight sets without him in the 14 finals series and the loss of the 15 prelim again with him being "to valuable to risk" despite the fact he was champing at the bit to play shows we had perhaps gotten ahead of ourselves as to how we would win without him. This year we lost Pav as well and I for one am very concerned. Hope to be proven wrong, but the start of 16 with Sandi & Fyfe both playing, we still lost to GC at home for peats sake.
