Apparently we're at the beginning of a 4 year rebuild according to RL.

"we all signed off on a four-year rebuild last year - really restump, rewire, replumb - and that hasn’t changed from list manager, president, ceo, coach, football operations manager and our leadership group"

Those who were expecting to rocket back up the ladder might need to readjust their sights. My question is, why did we throw away draft picks trying to pick up middle aged blokes intending to come home to WA in the future if we're just going to sit around the bottom of the ladder again anyway? I don't think RL and the people running our club understand rebuilds.

I like that. Expectation management at its most cynical.

He wants it both ways - to have people buy into the idea we'll look good this year and expect to do well, but always have a soft cushion of 4 years to land on when it goes tits up.

I think Ross should go into politics. Because it's looking like he sucks at football.

He's just giving the opposition a false dawn. Keep expectations low and fly under the radar. He's coaching record suggest that last year was an aberration. If he can't turn this group into finals contenders this year, I don't think the board will sit on their hands.

I know it's only a preseason game, but geez...it's a freaking preseason game.

I reckon all signs point to a slow start to the year anyways, with the amount of turnover and trying to give more responsibility to the younger group. The "re-stump..." malarkey is about managing the Fyfe narrative too, but they'd be thinking some gears will click as the season rolls on I'd say.

Johnson, Ibbotson, Walters, Ballantyne, Brad and Stephen Hill, Fyfe, Mundy, Neale, Spur, Sandilands, Dawson, Sutcliffe, Danyle Pearce and Griffin. They should be good players when they are fully developed?

I think the panic button is being pushed , Yesterdays performance was insipid , but how switched on were our players , If they were having a genuine dip yesterday , be very afraid , Micheal Johnson could not play that badly again !!! Surely i have seen him play better injured, David Mundy was crap , hang on if i mention who was crap i could be typing all night , The same ordinaries were ordinary , Can we get better i hope so because with the womens results as well we have become a club with a losing culture!!
