If that's the case, Davo, then cheaping out on not returfing it has cost a a premiership.

It didn't hurt Pav.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

These calf injuries have only occurred in the last 12 months, while the weather has been the hottest on record. Has Freo Oval dried out and hardened in that time?

Returfing Freo Oval is dead money given the ETAF move, so it's a perfect storm.

FYI, the premiership window closed in Round 2, 2016 when the Gold Coast thumped us on our home ground for the first time ever.

Are you suggesting we get a new one to train on?

Oh, so you're talking about only calf injuries? Not broken legs, knees and every other problem our players are repeatedly facing? You're stretching things a long way Davo placing the blame on the turf.

OK if you want to expand to include leg fractures and breaks, these also have occurred on WA grounds, namely Freo and Subiaco Ovals.

I would think the stress injuries, as opposed to impact injuries, go back a bit further than 12 months. And it's been a very mild summer.

If the ground is not suitable for running on, even for a few months, then it's negligent to let millions of dollars worth of footballer train on that ground.

It's a perfectly avoidable storm.

I wasn't talking about just the calf injuries Davo, it was all of the consistent recurring injuries that are hampering our squad. It's not the ground that has Hendrix hurting himself despite showing clear signs of a dodgy knee for the best part of 3yrs. It's not the ground cracking open Fyfe or APearce's legs. It's not the ground that has Bennell's calf torn up for most of the past 2 years. It's not the ground that has a 7ft 34yo tearing his calf jogging around in the rehab group.

It's mismanagement of players bodies.

So do we have any theories on how exactly the mismanagement of bodies has resulted in collision-related broken bones (even if we take a slighty drier ground into the equation)? Have they halted milk intake?
;p

It's the recurrence of both broken legs after the initial injury. You can't do much about collisions on the field but you can sure as hell rehab the players properly and ensure they don't suffer a crack to the exact same bone doing something innocuous like jogging around in the rehab group.

With all the Calves going missing, you'd think the milk intake may well be down ROV

Don't remember that superfluous to our needs Mickey B rebreaking his leg while going for a jog.
Worse break than Fyfe & Pearce.
Better conditioning staff?
Same training ground.
Something's not right with the amount of injuries we keep getting, especially in pre season when we haven't even played an intraclub scratchy let alone a match in anger.

they are training too much, and not playing enough footy. Simple really.

Too many games, too much training.....not all get affected but enough to suggest a rethink is required about the length of the season given the intensity of the game. We are still playing the same or very similar amount of games when the game was much different.
