TOPIC: Bye SCOS

This is not surprising and very logical.

SCOS has been constantly hampered by injuries and every-time an opportunity appeared he went down. That's one of the two main reasons he played so few games, the other being he was always behind MJ and LM, they kept him out not ZacD.

Everyone on this site needs to stop moaning the loss of aging journeyman players, we need talented youngsters, and the 4 recruited the other week fits that bill. We also now have space to load up from the draft next month, whilst looking forward to continued growth in Blakely Weller, Langdon, A Pearce, Collins, Yarran, Tucker and Balic as these guys will help us to a premiership not those just boned!!

Why the long faces? Scos had played 50+ games in 7 years and was a rookie listed player. Yeah, he was serviceable and like Barlow, a Freo favourite. Trouble is we're in a hurry to win a premiership. It didn't quite work out for the last lot of players so it's out with the old and in with the young and new. So the past was good not great but the future is going to be much greater.

we wasted a good footballers career he would have been a key defender in many other teams

It may well be 'out with the old and in with the new' but where does a bit of 'grunt' come from!

Don't talk to me about aging journeyman players not being needed when we still have Dawson and D Pearce on our list.

The people running our club make it incredibly difficult to be a supporter. Bizarre decision after horrible decision every time and now SCOS pays the price.

He'll thrive at another club and I hope he gets a chance along with Barlow.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Barlow an ageing journeyman? The man is a footballer and will be a bargain pick up for someone.

Personally I'd let Dawson run out his contract with back to back flags for Peel, while we played Silvagni in our backline.

You can hardly say out with the old and in with the new, when we let upwards of 10 go, and only bring 4 in. If that's a fast track to a premiership, we'll have to win it from 12th.

I wonder where the 6 will come from. The club must have some players to recruit from the opening delisted free agents or the pre season draft. Not likely to get good players past pick 70 surely?

SCOS had to go......its a shame but like every serviceable player he took a position from an up and coming star and we cant carry "decent" players anymore. To win a premiership we need three Fyfes and at least two Pavs and two Lukes......and a lot of luck with the VFL inspired draw. We've got the coach, we are starting with a great list on paper for 2017. We need another solid trade in 2017 and we are a genuine chance 2018 onwards. Compare the lists of Sydney to Freo and you'll soon see why SCOS had to go.

Silvagni is a very ordinary footballer. Not as ordinary as Zac, but Zac has a contract (hopefully not for long). But seriously, to carry on about Silvagni like he was a great footballer denied his rightful existence in our backline is laughable. The usual suspects as always blaming the evil football club they supposedly support.

Freo's list overhaul has a similar look to one that was done in 2008. We had some Freo favourites shown the door, and from memory the same outburst on this forum. Since then, most of the players have turned out super but others sadly have given their best but sadly their best didn't win us a premiership. I see this second coming has Freo's chapter of redemption for the 2016 season. In Fyfe and co, we are destined for the holy grail. Because if we can't do it under his watch, we never will, well not in my lifetime.

Presumably no other club was prepared to offer up less than pick 135 as a trade otherwise the horrible blokes who run our club would have traded him rather than having to delist him.
