Getting excited ,close now... Plenty of potential jets even at our 7 (wherever it may end up) if we don't get Sam , I'm liking Taranto or Scrimshaw... But did any one see St Marys v Wanderers this week ? Shirly (don't call me ) Francis Kinchari is worth a punt on a late pick

Yep and looking forward to Cal Twomey;s phantom draft which we'll all read and then pretend we're experts.

Fox Sports has us missing SPS to Carltank at 5, and English and Logue to GC at 4 and 6. Guess that leaves Taranto and others.

Some have English sliding to teens.

If SPS is there and we pass him over I'll be livid

Actually 391 on needs we will either get English or louge even if sps is still available (which I highly doubt)

Callum Twomey is suggesting we are interested in Patrick Kerr as our second pick . Id be wrapped to get him especially if we go small with our first pick
.

Also I like the big Fijian ruckman ...forgotten his name .He was all over English as far as ruckwork went in the exhibition match

What we all think does not matter one bit as Lloyd and the list management team may have different ideas. HOWEVER, to trade pick 3 down to 7 suggests they had already "chosen" their recruit, and hopefully, the play works for them.
Personally, I would like to see Logue at pick 7, Zac Fisher and Matt Guelfi at 35 and 40, and whoever is the best ruck prospect available at 70 (Max Lynch, Oscar McInerny or Jeremy Goddard).
We will see. As for Callum Twoomey's #7 Phantom Choice of Will Brodie...I say "Callum Twoomey, you know nothing!!"

I'm not sure of Callum Twomey's history of getting the phantom draft close to being right but with this rubbish of academy bidding and what not, it's all just a lottery, like I have been ranting for years. I was excited years ago when we picked up Mora, well that went to .... Our 2016 draftees I hope can add value to our list but unless you're GWS, where if you have a truck load of top end picks, you'll get a couple of gems.

My 2016 draft goals are pretty simple:

- pick someone good like 200 game good,
- if we pass of Griffin Logue and English AND they then go to WCE I hope they're cr@p or we'll never hear the end of it

#petty I know

The fact we traded three for seven , And made the comment that our first pick should still be there at seven anyway suggests English ,If we don't take him , He could still be there at twenty !!

I reckon Esava is a better ruckman than English at present and will also be better 5yrs from now. I would be stoked if we grabbed him with a later pick.

If we traded down to 7 for English then our trade team failed miserably. We could have received at least two picks in the mid late teens instead and grabbed English as well as maybe Logue or Florent or anyone else sliding.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

There will be plenty available at pick 7, it is a matter of finding the player with plenty of upside, a lot of the overhyped top picks are near the peak. The real wins in the draft are the players who have yet to develop to their best and will give value for money.

Twoomey changed his mind yesterday. This Phantom draft thing is pretty spectral.

2. Taranto
6. SPS
8. Will Brodie --> Freo
9. Logue
19. Tim English --> Bulldogs
