I would be happy With Sps , Logue, Fisher or sam powell pepper (when I watch him play he reminds me of Dustin Martin) So it doesn't really matter who we get they will all be great players in the future.

English would be a waste of an early pick in my opinion.

Are there any rucks that have gone top 10 who lived up to their pre draft hype?

Off late Grundy a good get but was a draft slider. Lycett slid too.

Can't really count GC or GWS picks lately as they've had so many at front end of draft they could afford some speculators.

Leunburger (spelling???) and Kruezer haven't delivered on the pics they were taken at.

Surely he slides

We had pick 3 which almost guaranteed us SPS. We traded back 4 spots when we didn't have to ,and now will almost certainly miss on the best chance at pure talent we've had in years. You can cite previous deals not getting done as a reason for our nervous trading this period, but the bottom line is if we held our nerve till week 2 mcarthy was coming to Freo for a bag of peanuts. We will rue the day we traded away our rights to SPS. English , Logue , Taranto , doesn't matter , we have missed the bulls eye.

Sorry that was a slow response from phone fat thumb combination You Beaut. By "years" did you mean "year"? Pretty sure we secured some fairly awesome pure talent last year.

When you're rubbishing handing over pick 3 for 7, is when you really don't understand the risk and reward scenario. I don't expect English to go top 10, but the other 3 WA Boys, SPS, Logue and Powell Pepper, are worth drafting. Though, if Pick 3 was still Freo's I doubt they would have taken SPS, because he wouldn't have been the best available at that point. Therefore, Freo had done exactly as planned, drafting in McCarthy et al. Job well done. As for pick 7, we could get a Rhy Palmer or a Joel Selwood. It's a lottery, end of story.

Palmer was a jet till he did his knee.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Funny game footy especially with fickle vic media.

Swap Palmer in the Geelong team same time and place as when Selwood started and he is heralded as a tough contested ball winning machine and probably plays in a flag or two.

Now swap Selwood in to the Freo side ... He becomes a tough contested ball winning machine but the Royal we don't rate him because doesn't have the same class around him and all of a sudden he becomes a bloke you knock because he is slow, low disposal efficiency and he plays for free kicks.

You use top-ten draft picks to select ready-made high impact match winners, not future workhorses with present-day protein deficiencies.

SPS has indicated he wants to go to a Melbourne club so I say English, otherwise Logue.

If English is still around at pick 7 we will overlook him and take a Victorian mid size midfielder.

Or we could take one of a number of David Mundy sized midfielders, i really hope we do. Ask the reigning AFL premiers if tall skinny ruckmen are important.

Tim is a Zac Clarke sized midfielder.
