TOPIC: What's the end result?

You don't hear that though, that hasn't been said in a while actually. Even more so with all of the compromised drafts since 2011.
Nathan: When did you get balls?
Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.
Nathan: That's the gayest thing I've ever heard.

Bizkit that theory of yours that this years draft drops away after the first 3 is against popular opinion (which is is fine of course to have an opposing view). I have heard many times that this draft is very deep and is a strong year.. Which having followed football for a very long time is quite rare.. Most years people say that it is a week draft.. Early on people thought that Ben Ainsworth might be number 1, then it was Will Brodie. Jack Bowes and SPS had time talked about possible number one spot before Hugh McCluggage and Andrew McGrath bolted late.. Harry Perryman has massive wraps on him and will get bid early.. Lots of people are saying the top 12 players are very special which is not like most years when first couple of picks seems obvious from a long time out.. I have heard that it also a draft that is deep in the fact that more players will actually get taken, close to 100 players might end up being selected.. Next years draft has a way better mix of key position players, midfielders and classy half back types but this is a good deep draft.

Hase reckons we'll take English - which I read Bizkit say is going to be a "disaster". Hase also thinks we'll make the 8.

Quote:

I said all year if Freo are aggressive and target the right players during trade period we can play finals next year. Finals here we come.

The most re-assuring thing about that is that he says "we" twice. Onya Hase.

I heard that a lot of the recruiters were now of the opinion that next years draft will have that good talent early, but will dry up fairly quickly, hence there were a lot of clubs happily trading next year's second and third rounders.

I think I have this right

Out: 3, 39, 57, 73, Mayne, 2017 2nd Rd

In: 7, 35, 40, 71, McCarthy, Hill, Hamling, Kersten, 2017 4th Rd

Assuming we still get a jet at pick 7, I think we've done well

It also seems we were in contact with all 4 recruits mid season.

Appears that list sizes are 44, being a choice between:
38 primary + 6 rookies
39 primary + 5 rookies
40 primary + 4 rookies
(above excludes Cat B Rookies)

We currently have:
36 seniors
2 rookies (Uebergang and Nyhuis)

We have floated the possibility to re-rookie Grey and DeLuca

So with our current 36 primary players, plus picks 7,35,40,71, I assume there is no need to delist Silvagni & Barlow.
If we do, then we'll need to replace them with picks somewhere around 100 odd, or by using pick 3 in the pre-season draft.

I have never said the draft drops away after 3 picks. I said the top 3 are standouts and the next 20 are very good. McLuggage has been talked up as the number 1 ever since SPS was struck down by injuries and McGrath came home hard to force his way into the conversation with those two. The rest will all be very good too but those 3 are the elite.

Simon: I've always had balls you've just never seen them.

The end result is that the Dockers are the big movers amongst the punters. Their odds have been slashed from 50 to 23 and are now ranked eighth favourite just behind the Eagles .

Follow the money.

Their odds fell because someone put a $20k bet on them at 50-1 last week.

It just proves where the smart money's going! Bet or no bet I'm sure even the other Hill ( William ) is getting behind Lloyds heroes and "onwards to victory"! weetbix time!

That's why odds usually fall - because they're being backed by money.

I was just pointing out that it was one specific bet, from last week, that halved the odds.
