Hamling, IMO is the best of the trades that Freo have done. Since the draft in 2011, where he was picked 32, he's had to work his backside off to now become a premiership player at age 23. In the same draft, Crozier (pick 20), Hill (33) and Kersten (34), should he arrived, have still got a lot to prove. Hilly, while a triple premiership player, played in a team arguably the best in the modern era with plenty of stars to make his job easy. Will Freo be a better team with all these lads in? Absolutely. Will they be even better with a fit Fyfe, Bennell, Pearce, Sandi and Johnson. Bloody Absolutely. There'll always be the naysayers but it's not to difficult to see them improved just as quickly as they fell from grace.

I have no doubt I'll be howled down but that wasn't much of a highlights clip. Unfortunately there's not a large selection of games to pick from but none of those were particularly good spoils or marks, a rushed kick in on top of a forwards head to punch away or an easy mark at worst against a midfielder doesn't get me as excited as some of you seem to be.

Maybe the bar is set so low after years of watching Dawson play?

I'm probably not going to go through every lists KPD and work out where I'd place Hamling but I will look at Freo's options. I will say he is an improvement on Dawson but I don't think he is anywhere near as talented as a Johnno or Pearce. I'd also have Collins who's younger with more improvement to come ahead as someone who was a fantastic intercept marker and decision maker before late in the season when he appeared to be too shy to go for a grab or make a bad decision (but I hope RL gives him back that freedom). SCOS also performed just as good a shut down job but with the added bonus of intercept marking throughout the end of the season but he is 28. SCOS is a better player now.

My starting defence would have SCOS/Collins FB with Pearce at CHB and Johnno able to play third tall and as our 'quarter back'.

Have to agree Detox can't seem to find much opinion that says that the club is getting anything right.
We need KPP until we get KPP now they are the wrong KPP.
Recruiters can't get anyone to the club but this year they should be using our trades.
We get a back man but he was the wrong one.
Players that have played in premiership teams that add nothing to a team that finished 16th on the ladder.
Bond has been to stingey at the trade table now he is paying overs.
Almost everybody that I speak to or commentates on Footy thinks we have done well this trade period.
I thought part of supporting a team meant you supported the team.
