Alfie
1 kick in the prelim, 2 kicks in the grand final at WAFL level. Its fair to say he's simply not even good enough for the WAFL. A good amature footballer at best. Id be delisting this year and save us the pain long term.

It's concerning, I agree, especially if we think he is going to lead our forward line. Apart from a few weeks ago in the first final I have yet to see him play a good wafl game. He doesn't really kick goals either. He's good to have as a target though because he straightens us up and runs in a straight line, which puts the fear of God into you if your an opposition defender but unfortunately he seems to be fairly unco and is just as likely to flatten a teammate.
We have no choice but to persist though. Thanks Bondy.

He was very ordinary today. When I look at Langdon, Balic, Hughes,Yarren, and, God bless him, Rory, today, I'm thinking he was so far away from AFL standard it was ridiculous. And who was the blonde Subi bloke with the miniature top knot (not up to AFL standards)? He was good.

Between he, Clarke and Griffin in the forward line, I think they took one mark. God our big man stocks are loooow.

I mean the top knot is not up to AFL standards (i.e. Fyfe) but the player showed great promise.

Chris Bryan was that knotty Subiaco player. He had a bit of pace. Up the other end, Liam Ryan was closely marked by Ryan Nyhuis.

Hi Blockerhead , From what i have seen his best position seems to be left right out!The fact that he was taken in the first round concerns me as to our talent recognition skills , And you need to add Jack Hannath at pick eight overall to be left scratching your head , Ross always bemoans our lack of first round picks in our league team , That is because we have wasted our first round picks on players like Apeness.

Given his injury history and stuttered development, I'd persevere (with fingers crossed) that he comes good. The big ones take time and he just seems to have that bit if mongrel in him that Freo needs.

Pav353, Apeness was taken at pick 17 in a draft compromised by the GWS mini-draft, is 21 years old, and hasn't had a decent pre-season for two years. I would give him and the club a couple more years before sticking the boots in.

As for Hannath, he was taken in the pre-season / rookie draft (i.e., not the national draft).

Yes i realised after i posted that Hannath was taken at 8 in the pre season draft not the national draft, So i stand corrected on that one , With Apeness i just don't see a lot in him ,he looks awkward , If he was any good he would be ripping it up at WAFL level but he isn't

Let him get fit. He essentially had a knee reconstruction.

He'll be okay.

We stood by the interchange bench last week and noticed that he appears to favour one leg as his running style was a bit proppy, couldn't see it from where we sat yesterday.
I thought he positioned himself well when playing in the forward line next to Pav, but the forward line yesterday was cluttered, probably how Yarran got dusted.

Yarran is a star. I just hope they don't push him out too soon. He's missed a lot of football and should be able to for five years minim
