Was Apeness injured today? Stats show he had 1 kick. Surely that cant be right? Any key forward who gets 1 kick in any game of football is a serious concern.

No he wasnt obviously injured. Got to lots of contests, almost clunked a few, competed hard but the ball just sort of kept spilling out of his reach. His opponent did a good job but I wouldnt read too much into it, he still looks promising.
Got greasy towards the end too. Ok..... I`ll admit he didnt have a great one.

Never thought about it much 353 because he has played so little and we need him so much he has to be good. Since 2014 has played 35 games of WAFL and AFL for 350 disposals, we need a back up plan I think.

Dare I say it but those stats are Nat no knees like. Did he also take several unrealistic leaps into the stratosphere nearly killing half his own team mates upon re-entry? We should delist him and get Tom Boyd, then he could get 7 touches for 1.goal.

I think we need to get our head around the fact Apeness is no world beater.
He is a big unit that will hopefully play lots of games and clunk 4 or 5 big marks in a high pressure game where we need him most.
The fact he was a first rounder will see him get more opportunity than some (despite Rosscos assurances all are equal after draft day)
I suspect he will be like a few other big blokes that stay on lists and dont really contribute consistently until later in their career..
Drew Petrie spent his first 150 odd games being despised by Roos supporters..

He just needs a couple of preseasons to reach his peak, he's been injured a lot over the last two years, get some running into his legs and we'll see a much better player.

If we get McCarthy and Hogan in the forward line then he'll end up being our number 1 ruck after Sandi retires.

I'm not really sure what position suits him. If he could move maybe CHF, he offers a structural target, but he is just not really a goal square forward or ruck. He really should dominate WAFL games, but doesn't. I'd love to be proved wrong and for him to have a Max Gawn-like evolution, but I really just can't see the talent. Any log can contest in a pack, bring the ball down, and get duck egg stats for the day.

He, like most 200cm kids needs some time. He looks slow. He is not, he is quick. He just cant repeat the efforts, yet. He has no tank.

Honestly, in five years time (if we are all still here - Trump leading in the primaries) I dont think there will be a huge difference between Apeness and Hogan.

I dont think Hogan is the superstar you all think he is gonna be.
