Sandi has 1, maybe 2 years left. By then, Clarke will be late 20s and at his best (whatever that is), with Hannath mid-20s and ready to go, so it seems sensible to try to bring in Rory Lobb as a marking forward/part-time ruckman, and ditch (or trade) the older, but not so athletic Jon Griffin, doesn't it?
That sooky looking bloke from Melbourne will be out of contract and free to move next year anyway.

If we want to wait a year for all these out of contract players to come back, then we need to make sure finish stone motherless last so that we have the leverage in the PSD to force a deal or just wait and take them as they become available.

No point finishing in the 8 and watching 9 or 10 other sides grab them in the PSD before we get a chance ...

I would hate to be relying on Jack Hannath to be our great white ruck hope going forward.. A long way from even having an impact at WAFL level..
When guys like he and Moller are in the system for so long and don't produce , we hang onto them for too long when we should turn them over and at least draft a rookie who may have big upside.

What if we could trade out Fyfe and a 2nd round pick to GWS for Lobb, McCarthy and Coniglio , Would you do it ?

Leaving us pick 3 and our first round pick next year to trade for Hogan.


Then a 2nd round pick for Hill and we have gained 5 really good players for next year.

Fyfe for 3 GWS? That's a farm foreclosure. And you'd have to make it 4, because McCarthy is a freebie.

Even the, probably no. When fit, Fyfe is one of the 2 best players in the comp, and makes every other team play 2 on him, just to limit the damage he does. Not seen any of the 3 mentioned come close to doing that.

Besides, when you're sacking most of your midfield, and BondChrisBond is in charge of restocking, keeping the best mid/forward in the game could be useful. Add to that, Lyon seems to struggle to change game plans with players he already knows inside out. Give him 5 brand spankers and he may well just spontaneously combust.

If we are, as reported interested in getting Hamling back home his price must be sky rocketing by the week, if WB would let him go at all that is.
Completely owned Cameron last night after shutting down Kennedy and Gunston in earlier finals. That's some pretty big scalps.

Won't get any easier though next week when he gets Buddy or Tippet. He seems like one of those old fashioned, no frills backmen who gets the job done.

I have been keeping a close eye on Hamling too Corporal.. Looks rock solid also played on Cyril for a bit so he must be very agile for his size.. Would be a very good get.. I suppose no-one puts on more pressure up the field as the bulldogs so there are a lot of rushed kicks coming in though.

Remind me again in those games where Hamling took down Kennedy, Gunston, and Cameron how much clean ball (and time and space) the opposition midfield had when delivering it to their key forwards?

For me it was all bomb it in long under enormous pressure and wasn't like we saw Hamling stuck one out with good delivery and spoiling or marking (like AA Luke for example)

Yeah I actually thought Hamling made a lot of mistakes and struggled for the most part. He was also on Patton for a while who had a field day despite GWS horrible ball movement. Cameron had a quiet one because the ball never got near him (and vice versa), not because Hamling was good.
