I actually see both sides of the argument here and belive RM is right in that next year, after the Thunder win the thing, we will fall in line with other states and lift the qualifying criteria to something like 10 games. So dutchy, clancee and the others who were overlooked in the freo side this year would have something to play for, while those who spent most of their year in the dockers side like Clarke & Yarran would not be eligible.

I really hope dutchy, SCOS and the Muz do get a premiership before we cast them to the wolves.

If all those blokes played for Peel on a regular weekend, Fremantle wouldn't be able to field a team in the AFL that week.

I think you've misunderstood.

If Peel fielded the same side on a weekend in the regular home and away season that they will field this weekend, Fremantle would not be able to field an AFL team on that same weekend.

Hayden Ballantyne wants to go somewhere where he can win a flag. I think the solution might be right under his nose - Peel.

There were 14 Fremantle listed AFL players that played in Peels losing 2nd Semi Final to East Perth in 2015, and there were 17 that played last weekend against South Fremantle, so its about the same as last year.

A lot of players have been given more games in the AFL this season than they might have otherwise because we've had a crap season, and we've had to turn over our list and play some youth, and we've had a lot of injuries.

There was a WAFL game mid season where our AFL injury list was in the 15-20 range and Peel fielded only 3 Fremantle Dockers, and two of those were on limited time due to being injured.

There are other injured players like Smith, Morabito, Grey and Uebergang that had qualified to be playing in this WAFL Grand Final, and that kind of balances out blokes like Suban and Blakely who have just scraped in with the 5 games.

It's not right, and I hate the contempt the afl clubs have for the wafl, but there's something just that little bit fantastic when lots of money meets really lots and lots of money.

Subi have had this coming for a while now.

I can't believe the whinging. There are rules, and they are being followed. So suck it up.

At least that is the line that Shane would normally take...

This whole Peel alignment thing really works both ways for Peel. Last year they got decimated as they headed into finals as most of their side got called up for Senior duty due to injuries to the Docker side and left them playing a stack of Peel Reserves players. They got slaughtered straight up. This year has worked to Peels advantage, mainly due to the terrible run of injuries their senior team suffered.

Ross Lyon has always used the rules as they stand to his clubs advantage. I think it is of great advantage to the Dockers to continue to get high quality games into some of these youngsters. Nothing wrong with that, in fact he has a duty of care to his club to do so. Look at the great advantage to Balic as just one example. Look at how Blakely who was a good WAFL player now can learn to dominate at the lower level, this will hold him in good stead.

Apeness got one kick on the weekend. I think there is a bit of over reaction. Its not like Peel has a dynasty of Grand Finals to its name.

The WAFL on the other hand need to change the criterion - slightly. No need for a massive knee jerk like what the AFL did with the last round bye just because North Melbourne and the Dockers happened to finish so far in front they could take a rest in the last round. Maybe make players have to play 7 games instead of 5 before they qualify for finals. Certainly its not up to the Dockers to make it fairer.

The rationale for the two Perth AFL teams being able to play a seconds in the WAFL hasn't changed, has it? Or did I miss something.

The system has been running a while without them monopolising the top two spots, but that might turn out to be a problem some time and the rules could be changed but until then let's see. There's also a problem the other way around if the rules say Peel can never win a premiership. Back to square one. Rock and Hard Place.

I reckon we're just paying Peel back (with interest) after we screwed 'em over last year when we decimated their finals side so that we could field a 'B' team against Port Adelaide. I see no harm in it. Especially if Subi suffer.

But yeah, tightening the rules next year to mirror the VFL of Snaffle wouldn't go astray.
