I'm a long time Subi supporter and will be at the GF to watch the mighty lions play the baby Dockers and will be happy with either winning. So can't loose with either our second three peat in 10 years or the thunders first! Excellent, just sit back in a cheap open vip box and enjoy the wine and beer.

I'll be going to see if some of our guys who've done it tough over a few years can enjoy a beer being winners.

Hope Freo fans get to Sundays GF.The Dockers players have given 100% for Peel in there 3 finals.Subi are a far bigger, fitter, faster and stroger than other Wafl sides. They are also fresh playing only1 game in a month. In last year's they had a similar scanario and blew the game away.
Cmon Dockers fans get to the footy on Sunday and support your alignment side.

Bugger off. Subiaco might be bastards but at least they're playing within roughly same parameters as the rest of the league. Fremantle are being knobs over this.

The alignment system is supposed to be a compromise that lets the two AFL clubs develop their squad better. Playing hardened professional AFL players in the WAFL, four weeks after their AFL season has ended is not in the spirit of the agreement and has spoiled what should have been a competitive finals series.

Apologies if this one has been mentioned.

Echoing you comments Shane, would it not be logical for both AFL teams to have their own team. Advantages,
1. Experiment as much as they like
2. Regardless of finishing position in the regular season, the 2 AFL teams do not take any part of the WAFL finals series.
3. Players who join the AFL WAFL team know what they are getting (experimental feeder club, no WAFL finals).
4. The 2 AFL teams could play a mini series final (best of 3).

I'll be attending the WAFL final because i'm interested in seeing how the Freo young players perform. A taste of finals football is good for them regardless of the politics. Looking forward to it.

C'mon it's an aspirational thing, if there's anything I've learned from our Gina is that we just need to work harder and stop trying to drag down our betters.

So Shane, six or seven of the players you describe as "hardened" possibly fit that description. I probably wouldn't slot Harley Balic, Ryan Nyhuis, Shane Yarran, Michael Apeness, Ethan Hughes into that bracket. Of the others, yes, Blakely, Langdon, Tucker and Collins have each played a handful of games now, but "AFL hardened" implies a level of Clint Eastwood resentment, bitterness and toughness. I would believe both teams are possibly equal on this count, Horsley and Broughton are experienced in the AFL system, and premiership experience counts for quite a bit.
As for East and South Fremantle however...

I'm with Shane all the way.
What's even more pathetic is that the dockers website looks more like a thunder website- over half the latest new articles are about Peel's finals campaign. Their even selling tickets!!!
I am a Dockers fan- Not a Peel fan

Shane, I looked at who was named for Peel in last week's game. Setting aside the fact that all the 22 who played against Souths actually qualify to play in the WAFL due to sufficient game time in Peel colours, I could only count Clarke, De Boer, Griffin, Mzungu, Clancee Pearce, Silvagni and Suban as truly 'battle hardened' AFL players, but really, how many of these blokes are likely to be on an AFL list next year? Some of them are already WAFL players, in all but name.
Lucky Peel. They have a strong squad available for the finals, and the rules, as they stand, allow it.

Given they are Freo players who don't play for East Fremantle, no wonder Subi picked up a surprise extra supporter or two, The lemon is supposed to go in the Corona, not the mouth.
