I thought they both did enough today to warrant a one year contract. de Boer seems to have neatened up his disposal and was constantly taking the short option and hitting it. Scos will be a handy backup backmen as long as he can stay fit to take his opportunities.

They both had very good games and Dutchy in particular had me wondering where he'd been all season. A good strong body in the contest and played well within his limits when disposing of the ball (taking the right option to someone in a better position who can kick it better).

When Zac was out we had big bags kicked against us each week. And it's not the first time it's happened when he doesn't play.

Yes he's awkward. Yes he can't kick or do much else for that matter, but our defence is 100% better with him in it than not.

We played the 3 best and biggest forwardlines when Dawson was out, they were always going to kick big bags against a bottom of the ladder side.

Dawson was greatly aided by the Dog's single tall forward doing an ankle early.

Surely there's a place in the team for a hard bodied in and under player that lays a tackle and doesn't mind getting dirty in the clinches when there's rain around and you want the ball to stay for long periods locked in our forward line: De Boer!
Scos should also be there in 2017.

Boyd went off injured early in the 2nd so anyone could have kept him scoreless.

Sorry but the days are gone of having a player who gets so little of the ball are gone.Backmen are supposed to now attack and help carry the ball out of the backline, break lines,etc. You know, remember what that McPharlin bloke did.

What if the whole back line only got two disposals each?

You'd think even though SCOS is not in the normal best starting line up that we would keep him as we are a bit thin on defensive stocks. Personally I would love him to stay. It would be great if he could stay injury free for a while. If we turn the list over to the maximum he may unfortunately be gone, but I think we need to keep him.

As for de Boer if he plays like that each week he would stay, but given the little we have seen of him this season you'd think he has already been earmarked to go.

De Boer, has played his last game at Freo. Scos will get another contract. We've got Fyfe and Bennell, to come back into the fold. Our mids includes, Fyfe,Mundy, Neale, Blakely, Hill, Weller, Sheriden, Pearce . No place for DeBoer. Our backs: Spurr, Johnson, Tucker, Collins, A.Pearce, Sutcliffe, Scos, Dawson. Our forwards, Walters, Yarran, Apeness, Bennell, Tabener. Our Rucks: Sandi.

We've got some holes to fill in the forward line and Ruck department.
