Just a thought for Chris Mayne. He must be leaving us, because he looked upset when leaving the ground. Got comforted by a couple of his teammates. I'd like to thank him for giving his all week after week. He may not be the most talented, fast, strong or skilful player, but there is no doubt he gave us his all. I will miss him.

I assumed he was leaving because he is going to be delisted in about 3 weeks anyway. I cant see any AFL club picking him up for the life of me. I hope they do because we might get some compensation for a bloke we were going to cut anyway.

I've always been such a huge Mayne fan...a bit like a Shaun McManus in his workman-like resilience, he's just so damn purple. But his foot...that damn foot!! It used to be so reliable you would bet your house and children on it but now it fluffs sitters from 30m directly in front. What happened?? If he got his radar back he'd be damn lethal again. I really wish he would stay but if he leaves then I wish him nothing but the best.

Ditto wabbit, as seen by my moniker but I'm tired of watching the dropped marks and even worse the indecision when he does have the ball. We lose any advantage while he looks, stutters, looks again and then picks out an opposition player. It's so sad to see his loss of confidence and I wish him well. I just don't think he's our best option now.

When S. Yarran was recruited last year, Mayne saw the writing on the wall. Yesterday's game, Yarran's defensive pressure was Mayne like. He's also an accurate goal kicker, slotted 8+ goals in 6 games that he's played since debutting. Mayne leaving, hopefully will give us some compensation. To add to that, Ballas leaving could also give us another player that could kick goals that Ballas used to do regularly. He seemed lost this year.
