Brad Johnson is no Nostradamus. He's had inside info at best. Though I'd hope that not to be the case. But the silver lining is that, we'll turnover our list like we did in 2008 and aquire WA players who want to play for Freo, pick up gems similar to Fyfe, Neale Hill and we reload. I see nothing but upside from this season's debacle. So, after Pav's last hurrah, it'll be a new dawn. There is no place for negativity. There are peaks and troughs. We've been there.

You forget or weren't around when many of us were flat out rationalising or defending club decisions or coaching.

We don't have that emotional investment in defending our argument regardless. It's pointless. Results are a tad more concrete than a bunch of wishful thoughts... and suggesting that Phil Smart did a mediocre recruiting job is actually quite out there, to be polite. If you want to build a case for recruiting then run a comparison on every player chosen each year and how they've performed for their various clubs. Knock yourself out.

Im with blocker on this one....
However, I will see say - Phil Smart rated them and took them early ie Stephen Hill when all the pressure was on us to grab Rich or Yarran.
We know how much he rated Fyfe and it cost him his job to use pick 20 for him.
I know there was some push back to take Walters aswell.

I dare say if the current regime took their method of hoping they fall in the draft we wouldnt have either of them.

Could you imagine someone getting delisted now and the Recruiting Manager disagreeing and recruiting them back ala Crowley...no chance
