I think Ross is a good coach, I have to... for now anyway.
His boys are a mix of good average and poor, with the great not there at all for now. This is causing the pain, we are becoming a team that has forgotten what it feels like to be winning. That doesn't return in the blink of an eye, anyone who has played high end competitive team sports knows this, especially footy. So when the A team gets back in 17 we're still going to suffer I think, psychologically.
But what do we do in the interim? We've blooded some newbies which is great, we have hopefully realised we are PSUH with the likes of Mayne, Clarke and Dawson, et al. I don't think Ross has had his eye on the "right" ball in my opinion, his blue sky thinking has been obvious from my perspective. We would have performed better with the current squad of 2016 if we had Mark Harvey at the helm, pushing out solid hard footy. But Mark would not have gotten us to a GF in 50 years.
I really hope we get McCarthy and Hill. And Alex Pearce and Bennell come back to full flight. It's been a shocker of a year for us, but I sincerely believe that our club culture has improved a lot since the naughties. Ross can lead us to a flag, will he...? Fingers firmly crossed.
