He's contracted for 2017 so the suspension won't end his career, but what it will do is force the selection team to trial Silvagni for more than one game, maybe even bring in Hughes for the rest of the season and play a backline of Spurr, Collins, Hughes, Crozier, Silvagni and Sutcliffe

For all Zacs effort he is a one dimensional player.

1 mark, 1 kick, 4 tackles, 6 1%ers (spoils I assume)

Silvagni - 8 kicks, 6 marks, 1 tackle playing primarily on the best forward in the comp n his first game for the season

The only players who can come in next week are Clancee, Hughes, Morabito, Apeness, Nyhuis, Suban, Hannath, Deluca and Griffen. O3 have played as defedenders for Peel by my understanding - Hughes, Morabito and Nyhuis. Hughes is the preferred player and Mora is the guy we would all love to see back in a Derby

Not going to happen

Three games? If Hodge did that everyone would just criticise the guy he hit for having no awareness. The club should appeal this, because (a) we don't care if the appeal is unsuccessful and (b) its a carp decision. Three games is bs.

That's farcical. I watch the vision and still struggle to make the case for a free kick.

The MRP hates us.

I was hoping he would get the season off

Have to disagree, T-Y. This must be the first time ever that they've acted in Freo's best interests.

I don't care who the player was, I don't know how anyone knowing the rules these days could defend that hit. if that hit had have been on a Freo player we would be calling for weeks.

Everyone knows how risky the bump is nowadays and Dawson lined him up from metres away with no intention of doing the obvious and sensible thing-trying to tackle him!

Hodge did do it last year, to Wingard, much worse and more intention to cause harm than Zacs hit. He got off. Yes when it happens to a Freo player we call for weeks, and they get off. When Sandi, Pav, Fyfe, Mundy, Silvagni, Zac, Suban, Mzungu, And anyone else in Freo colors do it, intentional or not they get weeks. Bloody farce and corrupt. Just because it is Zac Dawson, don't make out it is all good and funny to watch.

Hodge didn't get off. He got two weeks.

That's pretty much getting off comparing his actions to what Zac did.

Agarn, its not that hard to defend. He was coming in to tackle. He couldn't have known the guy would fumble, turn round and drop to his knees. Zac made the wrong split second decision. That is careless, but nothing more - and he kept his elbow down. And the impact? I'd go with medium. The guy he hit will play next week.

He was never coming into tackle. His intention was to always bump. Otherwise he would have had his arms open and not tucked into his body. The reaction of a pro Freo crowd was enough to give it away. A huge whoa from the crowd as the hit happened.

Nope.
If that Sydney peanut had taken the ball, Dawson would have tackled him. As soon as he fumbled it, Dawson had to make a split second decision, which he did the only thing possible - tuck his elbow in and deliver a classic shirtfront. He was coming in fast to that contest. What else could he do?
If the Sydney player didn't stack his dacks, and collected the ball as expected, there would be no incident.
Just because it's Dawson, doesn't make it right, no matter how much you despise him.

He didn't have to bump Yossarian, he could have put his hands out.

If Dawson was good at split second decisions, on a weekly basis he would probably have more kicks than handballs, more marks than spoils. Split second decisions is not his thing.
