It's probably a bit limiting to classify Brad as just an outside mid. He has great pace, exceptional endurance, reasonable skills and from what I've seen, reasonable decision making. At the very least he would offer some added flexibility with what you could do with Danyle Pearce. He's shown the capacity to develop rapidly, given his rapid rise into draft contention and what he then did immediately at Hawthorn. So who's to say he couldn't develop his game even further if it was required and given the chance.

Ok, so he's not a hard inside tough nut.
Do we really need any more of those?
Fyfe, Neale, Mundy Barlow, Blakely, S Hill, Walters are all good inside midfielders, some even outstanding.
What we need is speedy outside running players who can kick the ball accurately, consistently. Brad Hill will bring that skill to this team. There are enough players to do the grunt work.
He will make our forward line work better.
That aside, I would be devastated if Freo traded Mick Barlow. Please stop throwing his name around as tradebait.

That's the ideal line up for 2017 with the likely additions of McCarthy and our first round draft pick. The number of players who can play outside we'll have waiting in the wings like D Pearce, Langdon and even Sheridan or Sutcliffe means we don't need to focus on trading our picks for another outside mid that isn't better than the ones we already have in the 22. It's a waste of resources and poor list management.

If we are legitimately rebuilding then there's no rush to get B Hill a year before his contract at Hawthorn is finished (and pay way over) and if we are intending to challenge next season then what the hell have we been doing all this season and why would we waste our draft picks on a depth player not in our best 22?

I do understand Bradley Hilla shortcomings but Hawthorn will not give him up without a trade to their advantage. Players with his pace and finishing skills are becoming more and more important in the modern game./

How about Tucker and Sheridan for Hill2

and Pick 3 for Lobb + McCarthy and Pick 8

Biz, you don't have Sheridan, Sutcliffe or Mayne in your best 22. As these have been 1st choice players nearly all season, why wouldn't you just swap one for Hill?

And by the way, Icondocker, the Slime do have Jetta, Bennell and Hill. They're just not any good playing for a soulless corporation.

GWS have collingwoods first pick as part of a trade last year, which all seem to assuming will be number 8 or there abouts, don't think we'll get cam mac & lobb for 5 draft positions though, maybe cam Mac

I have swapped our injured players for Sheridan and Sutcliffe because I don't rate them very highly and i think three talls is a much better structure down back than 5 half back flankers with dodgy skills and decision making. Why would I swap in B Hill for a Sheridan or Sutcliffe who shouldn't be in the 22 anyway?

Bradley is another Des. Luckiest man in the AFL.
McCarthey is coming with baggage and GWS know he's worth less now because of it; Third round pick.
Bradley could go the same, ordinary year and trouble off field, bad signs. It has the Hawks worried. I reckon they'll take unders.

I would trade Danyellin for Brad Hill in a heartbeat, they both play the same role but one can finish with class, I doubt the hawks would take that trade though.
