TOPIC: Ross the Quack

Potentially. But you'd need a major change to have occurred, or have been on the fringes of normal range, for something to be reported differently. Different labs have different equipment, some operate on more specific/sensitive reference ranges for age and gender for certain tests, than other labs.

Going to the same lab provides consistent results against previous ones. Some doctors aren't aware of this, and part of our job is to educate them.

Hence my point about Nathan. It makes complete sense to go back to the same surgeon. Freo might get a discount too.

Yeah, the club has one of those cards, and every time they visit the surgeon, he puts a stamp on it. After 10 stamps, he does the next broken bone for free. We're going to keep going to him.

OK all, I hear you. I back off my assertion that RoLy directed the flight, because my knowledge is hearsay. I will try and refrain from proffering such low level evidence in future!

But I don't back off my point that it is nuts to send a patient to Melbourne for a simple procedure. In the scenario of a complication, relationships between doctors are always more solid and effective when they work together on a daily basis, as the sports doctors and (excellent) orthopaedic surgeons do in Perth.

Perhaps in this case a second wrong (sending him again) does make a right, but I was surprised and dismayed by the initial wrong.

Go Dockers.

...are you a doctor based in Perth by any chance?

1 year ago I had my knee operated on by a surgeon here in Perth. I thought he'd be good to go with because he had a photo of Haze on his wall.
I've put on a bit of weight since then. Should I be concerned?

I'd only be concerned if, like Haselby, you'd put on another Haselby.

Should be okay but stay well clear of Darren Jarman's surgeon.

I would think that, at this point, Jarman has ditched the surgeon and hired a structural engineer.

Poor old chops, he hasn't played a game for years and he still cops it. I guess there is no such thing as bad media.

as a postscript, "Naitanui's operation was performed by Dr Peter Annear, the club's orthopaedic consultant." Looks like the Eagles don't see the need to send their players to surgeons with special hands in Melbourne.

Actually Prince (let me adjust my tin-hat quickly) I cant think of anything worse than sending a Freo player to a WCE supporting doctor unless of course you're getting a WCE supporter QC to represent one of our lads at the tribunal.

Regardless of where he had the operation, I hope that, when it was over, someone had the opportunity to ask

'Will he be able to play football when he recovers, doctor?'

And the reply was "Dammit Jim, I'm a doctor, not a miracle worker"

The eagles will be ecstatic if the operation can guarantee that Shane. Just imagine being able to put any old doofus through the op and have them come out being able to play footy. The eagles will be booking in Gaff, Yeo, Darling and co for the op as we speak.
[edit] Do we still have the rights to Anthony and Sylvia? Book them in now. Nothing to lose.
