So can anyone tell me how Sam Collins isnt getting a game with Freo? He is a man mountain, great mark excellent kick and has footy smarts. Hmmmm everything dawson isnt.

Barro talks how barlow, mzungui and sutcliffe were peels best 3 but apart from Barlow, the other two were very ordinary with disposals even accounting for the weather.

Apeness looked like he is coming along and grey put in other solid performance.

But then i hear RtB has his favourites of which dawson and sheridan are at top and if your not as in neale case you cop the blame for every mistake.

Collins did more in the first 5 minutes of the Peel game than any of our talls have done all year. Every time I see him play he's super mobile, takes big marks and has a monster kick.

Can anyone here confirm whether he's just a massive arsehole and that's why he can't get a game? And don't give me the tanking argument because we're already stuffed.

Bond and co finally make a good decision and hide it.

Collins marking on a day like today was fantastic. He kicked well and read the play beautifully. A big solid body I can't see being out muscled (tree trunk legs too), the only question would be speed. While that question is mostly because today wasn't a great day to show any speed, it becomes irrelevant when you're playing on a back up ruckman and most KPF.

When you throw in the fact we tend to have bulk numbers in defense so there's little opportunity for Collins to be exposed by leg speed (which I don't think he lacks anyway) then I have no idea why he isn't partnering AP in defence and Dawson is still getting a game.

With Alex Pearce gone for the year and Dawson likely to be suspended, even though the commentators put in a good word for him, I can't see how Collins does not play for Freo. So with Collins a given who covers for Dawson? Is Silvagni fit? What about Tanner Smith or is he now a forward. Maybe Nyhuis, I think that's how you spell his name, can play there.
The fact of the matter is we are going to need Dawson now more than ever for the rest of this year as we are running out of fit talls down back.

I don't know if Dawson is likely to be suspended, it didn't look as though the bulk of the (minimal) force was high and any high contact was incidental. Worth a 50 for the lateness, but that's about it. Plus, when has the MRP done Freo any favours.

It will be interesting to see what happens to Montagna and Armitage (St Kilda) vis a vis their 'indiscretions' relative to what happens to Dawson.
I think Collins (I've been pushing for his inclusion for a while), Uebergang, Barlow, De Boer and Hannath need to be considered against the Saints this coming weekend.
Why not give the Pav, who is doing nothing forward, a gig down back? Nothing to lose since we will be big under dogs against the Saints anyway. Will Pav travel?

Clarke can not possibly get a came against the Saints after that effort last night.
If he is injured he needs to move aside, if he is not injured he needs to start pretending he is!
That was a disgraceful performane.
I have never seen a man of that size and athleticism look so poor in marking contests, the truth is he never even looked close to marking or even competing.
Unfortunately no mongrel in him, cant wait till Apeness is ready.

I thought Uber was fantastic on the weekend. He showed great poise and from memory his disposal was pretty good too. A more than handy replacement for the fist if needed.
Just on the the playing the kids thing....it really makes no sense for Pav or Dawson to be out there if this is the plan?
Maybe they are just waiting for the Ape to get a few games under his belt before Pav goes.
There were times on the weekend the Pav looked defeated.
I too cannot wait until Freo finally gets what we have always needed...a wrecking ball at full forward in the Ape!
